Hugh Dunn- Hall of Fame

Hugh Dunn is also an inaugural member of the 2015 Harrisonville Wildcats Football Hall of Fame in 2015. He drove all the way from Macon by himself. We had the ceremony and then a tornado warning went into effect. We told him that we would give him a ride on the golf cart to his car. He said, "I walked in here, and I'm going to walk out." That's what made him great. In spite of all the things that most would call handicaps (losing an eye as a child, and losing part of his left arm to a wartime mortar explosion) he never let that stop him from doing not just normal things , but extraordinary things. All you have to do is read a bio on him and you would know what a hero looks like

Not sure he has passed. Pretty sure his wife has but he hopefully is still living. Just posting facts Sam. Just the facts.

But, taking this probably where it should not go, Hugh was also part of the generation that helped apply desegregation in the 50s and in the 70s, that allowed girls to begin interscholastic athletics at the state level. He helped tear down and destroy many things, along with others of that generation, that many young folks are not aware.
