He was actually a 4-star so I think you probably just Jason Pierre Pauled yourself with that one.
He was a 4-star. Again not the best example.
You can find former 1-3 star guys that have been great football players. You can find college teams loaded with 4 and 5 star busts. What you will find is a correlation between teams that bring in lots of 4 and 5 star guys and teams that win NCs. Bama, Ohio St, FSU,etc.
What star was Kony Ealy? Dude would have been MVP if Cam would not have fumbled the game away! I think Cam threw the game because he knew he would not be the game MVP! 
You might because since his school and Mizzou left big bevo the conference is scarce on talent.
