Can't really disagree with that. Maddon had a decent point I thought. His guys were just attempting to do the normal time wasting for the bullpen to get ready. But when he got tossed he shouldn't have been allowed to stay on the field and make changes. I was surprised West didn't herd him back towards the dugout. None of the other umps wanted any part of the sideshow either. They were likely embarrassed by their leader...Because the fat waste of space behind the plate is an idiot who should not be on a MLB field any longer.
They were wasting time, yes. Very common. But when he told Miggy to get back behind the plate, that was when JM went nuts. And yes....a very strange situation when made the change. I mean, does it really matter in the grand scheme? No, the change was happening if it was JM or Rizzo making the motion. Can't really disagree with that. Maddon had a decent point I thought. I wasn't sure if the catcher had already been out there and was trying to go back. That might have been why West didn't want to let him. But yes they were going to make the pitching change one way or the other and West wasn't going to change that. And quite frankly no one but him had an issue with it. Lol.They were wasting time, yes. Just a very odd 5 minutes of baseball haha
I couldn't figure that part out myself. I was absolutely confused as to why that happened. My guess is that West said something during the game and JM was a ticking time bomb. Either that or some prior grudge that JM decided to just slaughter West onI wasn't sure if the catcher had already been out there and was trying to go back. The biggest issue for me was why did Maddon immediately run out there and start cussing at him. You could read his lips. It wasn't cordial. Maybe it was because it was West and everyone knows his attitude most of the time. But Maddon could have been the bigger guy and calmly walked out there and asked for an explanation without escalating it right off the bat. He could have bought more time without making such a scene. But Maddon is a lot like West. He likes the attention. So he just blew it up right away.
Not much truer of a statement could be typed.Because the fat waste of space behind the plate is an idiot who should not be on a MLB field any longer.
Did you see the Alan Porter issue with the Pirates game? Not much truer of a statement could be typed.
That was bizarre. What the hell was Porter doing anyway? I get why MLB managers have huge egos. Still baffles me why umps/refs do.Did you see the Alan Porter issue with the Pirates game?
I think so. He was on a Birds broadcast for the HOF inductions. I know his title and duties were brought up. I thought that was still part of it. I still say computerize the K zone. Cut down a ton on the back and forth that starts a lot of these things. Is Joe Torre still in charge of the umps? If so....it's about time someone a few decades younger takes over and fixes this mess going on across the league
If the Cubbies don't win it all this year will Joey Baseball be considered a bust like MM has been?Because Joe Madden is a Baseball Man....A Genius. He gets to do things that other managers who are human don't get to. It's the Cubs year...the rest of the teams have just been allowed to come along for the ride.
Judging managers by WS wins is sillyIf the Cubbies don't win it all this year will Joey Baseball be considered a bust like MM has been?
I don't know that anyone considers MM a bust. Even his harshest critics (myself included) have said he's good at a lot of managerial things. He just happens to be really bad at the one thing that's most visible. If the Cubbies don't win it all this year will Joey Baseball be considered a bust like MM has been?
