We have changed to a 40 second clock as opposed to the previous 25 second clock . Game changer for weaker teams keeping it close or no big deal?

I don’t know, since they will now wind the clock immediately will it make that much difference??

My personal thoughts is it will be close to a wash but when the offense goes fast and then subs ...in the college game they will hold the snap untill the defense has a chance to counter ..it's my understanding that this won't be the case in hs

To me the biggest factor is going to be the clock operator and officials. Refs are going to have to hustle a little more to get the ball set and clock being started on time and knowing when to set it at 25. It will take some practice.
