Just DFA him. Cut your losses and move on.
But really

I think Colorado ruined his arm last year in the first half. Coming back right into a full time job and being overused after surgery.... Not surprising to see his numbers fall off a cliff in the 2nd half and roll over into this year

I agree. His FB velocity is down significantly. Guys can sit on the slider and adjust to heat. Couldn’t do that with the old Holland. Biggest problem is, Little League won’t quit using him in the setup roll. And Holland probably wouldn’t accept a demotion to Memphis to try to get right. So MO just really needs to cut him loose. It wasn’t a bad signing, but it didn’t work. Sucks, but time to move on. Same with Gregerson. And with all of this, it’d be really nice to see Reyes slide into that 8th inning roll if/when CMart returns. Rotation of CMart/Wacha/Mikolas/Weaver/Flaherty will do fine. Hicks(seems like he’s figuring it out), Reyes, and Norris for 7th, 8th, and 9th. Seems simple to me.

With the National league setting up as it is games like yesterday will be remembered as the day we lost out on the playoffs for the 3rd season in a row. What is up with Ozuna?

He was ruined when he left the Royals...

Maybe some truth to that, but wasn’t his velocity good 1st half of 2017? Seemed like he was good, then hit that post TJ wall and never recovered.
1.62 ERA, 2.80 FIP, .159 avg allowed

2nd half was 6.38, 4.99, .238

When he was with the Royals did he completely fall off the mound toward first base on every single pitch? He doesnt look fundamentally sound.

Yes. Lands almost in a squat and nearly ends up in the dugout after he's finally done

Can't answer that Ducky... i really haven't seen him pitch since he left KC. Eagle's comment may well have some merit.

Holland has a one year contract so I can't really complain too much about the signing, but that doesn't mean you have to force him into high leverage situations when he looks this bad. He can't find the zone and he's throwing 91-92 instead of 95. He should not be pitching in <2 run games.

Little League can't figure this out...which leads me to want MO to just cut him.

It was a gamble move. I get why they did it.... But it's bad now.
Made even worse by Little League running him out there in the 8th...no matter how many he gives away. It's like the Waino to the 60-day thing. But thankfully there's no sentiment with Holland, so just DFA and move on.
