Would like to start a discussion on football league champions and standings and also all time scores of teams and head coaches. Some schools/fans have good records and are online like Chillicothe and CBC but very few and less for leagues. I have all but 2 years of Big 10-8-9-10-12-13-8 (Aurora, Lamar) all defunct Southwest (Webb City) all KC Suburban, Half of St Louis Public, AAA most of ABC/Metro and about 15 other leagues including defunct final league standings but need help on many more. As far as schools have quite a few of SW Mo and Springfield areas close to 80% but now working on KC and St. Louis areas. Hoping there are others out there like me collecting this info and willing to share/trade. In long run can maybe get more complete info and share with the schools, leagues, MSHSAA, MoSports.com and Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. This week have been working on Central Ozark but MaxPreps.com info for 2008-2010 seems wrong/incomplete and I have no access to info before 1986. I do know it replaced old Skyline conference or is a continuation after expansion and new name in 1968. I Have been collecting this kind of info since 1970 but until 2013 it was mostly Kansas as I lived there most of my life now that I live in Missouri have expanded my interest past SW and West Central Missouri areas. Lets get the info saved for future reference and before some of it is lost to history forever.

That's a start. Looked at what he had posted and I had a few champions he didn't have.
But he doesn't have league standings and I keep those, close to 30 including defunct ones. There is still a lot of info out there to be shared and/or researched.
Sent him some of what I have to see If we can get this going good.

You need to get in contact with Bob Bryant in Columbia. He may already have everything you are looking for.

Contact info? Had been sending info to another guy about all Columbia schools but hasn't replied lately. I had continued on after Bob Roark's book in the 70s for Hickman but still missing a couple years also missing a few for Rock Bridge. Missing over half on the leagues they were in.

I don't have it but I bet somebody on this board does. He has been collecting scores on rvery HS football game played in Missouri since MSHSAA was formed.

A few years ago, with the help of the late Mr Floray, I sent Mr Bryant a bunch of scores I had for Chilli and the old MRVC from its founding to around 1990. He was very grateful, but alas, I did not keep his mailing address.

Do you have the kc suburban conference history? Jack Garvin publishes the Suburban Conference Almanac and it has a great history of the league. Year by year standings and all-conference teams. I don't believe it has actual game scores.

Yes bought that two years ago. No it does not have scores but I have researched and have most of NKC, Truman, Winnetonka, Hickman Mills and parts of many more in the league. My access to newspapers and yearbooks limited to what's online. Financially challenged and disabled so haven't been able to get to a library or school to see about more info.

Had those already. Went to Springfield when Mr. Matthews was still there and he let me copy all the info then kept up on it. Have at least half of Greenwood info but less on Catholic.

I have done a little on the Tri-County Conference, information is sometimes hit and miss even from the older papers at least the ones on online. Jefferson City and Sedalia papers some weeks would have outstanding write ups, other weeks you just got the AP wire and others no scores at all.

I haven't done any research on Tri-County have been working on the bigger schools leagues. guess I need to start. You seen anything on old Mid-Missouri 1987-1999 or Mid States 1977-at least 1980 .Helias was in Mid-States, Smith-Cotton was in Mid-Missouri and Waynesville, Rolla and Lebanon in both.

Everything I looked at has been before 1977. Can't really help much there. I say the death of the Mid-Mo Conference was not getting Camdenton and Helias in. Get those two in and the league probably sticks around.

Did a lot of research 1970-2000 going to libraries, newspapers and schools. Now retired/disabled so only research I do is online so more limited on what I can find. Only need 1940 to have Big 10-8-9-10-12-14-8 complete. Ozark and Southwest (80s-00s)
also complete. Have KC Suburban buy purchasing book Jack Garvin put out. Need help on several leagues. St. Joseph City, Midland Empire, Mid States, Mid Missouri , West Central early Central Ozark and it's predecessor Skyline among many more. willing to trade info.

Being able to only do online research hurts as not all newspapers are online. Like Springfield from 1930 to 1986 is not online, Sedalia nothing after 1977 and many towns have nothing online like Clinton. I close to not being able to find much more unless trading with others or more gets put online.

I'm aware of that site, but I didn't think the News-Leader (or the Leader and Press) had ANYTHING online other than some stuff from January '99 to today.

I've been using Newspapers.com, have saw the other site but no cash to subscribe at this time. Did some checking in my notes and Springfield was claiming Southwest Missouri for 1918 but no mention of a league. They were 7-0 and beat Marionville College, Aurora, Mt. Vernon, Everton, Joplin, Carthage and Drury College freshmen.

Get a Greene County library card and you can access newspaperarchive for free through their website.

So, just to be clear, the News-Leader isn't available online between '86 - '99?

It is online on Newspapers.com. Greene county library is to far for me to drive I am north of KC in Platte County but research leagues and teams in the 4 states. unless I can get one online but assume you have to be a Greene County resident.

As a resident of Platte County if you belong to the local library, they will have a reciprocal agreement with the Mid Continent Public Library.

Just got a library card today so will check it out. Will save me cost of paying for a subscription to NewspaperArchive.com. Doesn't help me for Springfield area as no papers listed but does help for other areas of the state.

Need score for one game in 1940 to be able to have complete standings of Big 8. Aurora vs. Mt. Vernon. The standings minus that game.
Carthage 6-0-1
Neosho 6-1
Monett 3-3-1
Lamar 3-3-1
Nevada 3-4
Aurora 3-4
Mt. Vernon 1-5-1
Webb City 1-6
Missing Joplin papers for first 3 games on line, Springfield Paper not available for that season online and no access to yearbooks for either school or else I would probably have done.
Thanks for score Uncle_Fester have adjusted standings above to final.

California football history is on www.pintosonline.com. Click on Football History at the top and scroll down and it gives the yearly schedules with results all the way back to 1959 the year Pintos Football and Tri-County football started.

The NewspaperArchive.com is not as easy to use as Newspapers.com but does have some years the latter doesn't. Just takes three times a long to find want I want and on many dates has only half the newspaper and no sports section. Have found a couple of leagues standing though.

Anyone have 1960s standings for St Louis area leagues. Have spent hours/days looking thru Post-Dispatch archives on line and seems like they did not publish standings. Need 1960, 1963 and 1964 for all the area leagues and 1961 for Suburban all divisions and 1965 for Suburban Small/Little 6. This would get me complete standings back to 1957 for all the St Louis leagues and actually complete a couple leagues. Due to finances losing access to most newspaper online access Dec 9 so research will come to a halt for a few months so asking for help on missing info.
