Parkway West competes in the Sub. South Conference in St. Louis. The Sub. South Conference has 4 Unfriendly teams and 4 friendly teams.

Unfriendly Teams----------------------------Friendly teams
1. Webster ------------------------------------1. University City
2. Parkway West-----------------------------2. Seckman
3. Kirkwood------------------------------------3. Parkway North
4. Parkway Central---------------------------4. Summit

Parkway West 11-2 returns all five starters from 2015 and eight seniors. The Longhorns known player is Wyatt Yess 6'8 Jr. ( 16. 5 PPG ) Offers from Missouri, St. Louis University and others. Another top player is 6'6" Sr. Nick Lathrop ( 11.1 PPG ) The Longhorns have senior leadership @ the guard position. This is the Longhorns most competitive team in years and they are getting more unfriendly every day.

The best teams the Longhorns have defeated to date.
1. Kirkwood-----------10-4-- ( 65-53 )--The Pioneers are getting more unfriendly
2. Parkway South-----7-6--- (-57-44 )
3. St. Charles West---8-5----( 51-44 )
4. Parkway Central---9-4----( 50-43 )

Parkway West @ Webster on 2-1-16 ( Rocket and others, come to St. Louis and scout this game ) I believe Parkway West will run the table on all remaining opponents in the regular season except Webster who is not a friendly team. ( I've got Webster by 3 points )

The Longhorns have two very competitive loses: ( Both Loses were in the Christmas Tournament @ Meramec ) I attended both games, these scores do not give justice to the Longhorns.
Hazelwood Central--57-71
Vianney----------------61-44

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
St. Joe Lafayette 12-2 and ranked # 3 in class 4. They have an outstanding coach in Chris Nett who coached @ Cape Notre Dame about 12-13 years ago. Chris is one of the top defensive coaches in Missouri. I know Chris Nett from his days as an asst coach @ Webster Groves.

Kansas City Barstow defeated St. Joe Lafayette a few days ago 61-51. Barstow is the defending class 3 state champions and most likely will repeat again this year. Father Tolton is a worthy challenger but senior leadership could be a problem. I sure hope " Dogfather " does not read this post. He might drive his 1958 ford convertible ( Top down ) to St. Louis in protest.

St. Joe has defeated .

St. Louis McCluer North 57-50
Hogan Prep---------------59-57
Hartville -------------------68-62 in a resent tournament. Class 2 Hartville is very good but class 5 Nixa defeated Harsville 40-37.

metro....I don't remember asking about them, but maybe I did.

Regarding Hartvile....they are TOUGH. We beat them this past summer. It was fairly close. They have a SQUAD.

Rocketbro ask for the above information not Rocket689.

Yes. I asked. Thanks for the info.

You've got to watch those rockets. One of us is well-informed, good looking, a gentleman, and a scholar. The other is my brother.

metro...the only thing rocketsbro got correct is that he is my brother. The other drivel is subjective, at best, and certainly not truthful. Typical barrister speak....stretch the truth beyond its known limits. Ha!

Anyway...back to the regularly scheduled programming....

Thanks for the info on the other two Class 4 contenders.

Rockets, I can not predict accurately a Parkway West win @ Westminster in class 4 district 4 but I believe it will happen. I hope you guys will attend the the Parkway West @ Webster game on 2-1-16.

Metro...are you going to watch the Dogs next week at the Zum North tourney? Maybe you can get a little perspective....

I have the Dogs winning district, sectional and playing Parkway West or Westminister in the quarters.

Rocket, I have not seen the bracket but I don't think there are any worthy teams that can challenge the Dogs in the Zum North Tournament. I will check the bracket and let you know.

Here's my schedule @ the present.

1-20-16----Rockwood Lafayette @ Kirkwood.--Cancelled
2-01-16---Parkway West @ Webster
2-02-16---Borgia @ Pacific
2-05-16---St. Mary's @ Borgia
2-20-16--St. Louis U High @ Webster--St. Louis University High is the hottest team in St. Louis with 3 big wins over DeSmet, Vianney and Hazelwood Central.
2-23-16--Jennings @ Sikeston--( Maybe ) I think this will be a good one. The winner here gets momentum going into districts, The loser goes into districts on low point. Rocket, What say you on winning or losing a few days before districts games? Jennings does not have great size but have 4 players in the 6' 3"-6'4" range.

Metro...well, at that point in the season, a team wants to be playing their best basketball of the year (peaking during the playoff run). However, a loss doesn't end the season. It can lead a coach to re-focus on certain things or it can provide an opportunity to clean up some bad habits. With that said...I would rather win than lose....regardless. Our coaching staff has enough experience and knowledge to see things that we need "clean up" even during a win. They don't think we are unbeatable and will not overlook ANYONE. I like our chances against Jennings (especially at home), but they should prove a formidable test and are certainly a worthy opponent.
