3rfan, It appears Coach Cory Tate is doing well as a Junior College coach and maybe ready to move to a high level. Cory was a varsity basketball player @ Missouri and graduated from Pattonville high school here in St. Louis. Cory is coaching the St. Louis Eagles this summer and could help the Missouri Tigers in their recruiting. I believe Cory could help attract the top players in Missouri to enroll @ the University Missouri in Columbia.
But he won't help them unless they hire him? If I had played at Mizzou and was in a position to get some good players to go their I don't think it would matter to me who the head coach was,I would want to send him the best players I could to help the program. I don't know if it's true but it was said on this board that he might not want to do that for the current coach and didn't want to for the previous coach either.
The St. Louis Eagles have a few players who could make the Missouri roster ( Cory is the Eagle coach ). Jayson Tatum and Tyler Cook could be in the rotation @ Missouri. I'm not saying Cory Tate could bring Jayson to Missouri but it could increase the Tigers chances to sign the top players in the country next year.
Somebody on this board was complaining because the lack of Division 1 coaching experience on the MU staff earlier in the year. Cory has done a great job at MAC, but does he have the experience? No knock, just a question.
