Here We Go: Top Teams For Next Year

C1- valle and penny. Everyone else is competing for 3rd

C2-if trinity keeps all the underclassmen they gotta be the favorite. Then lamar. Others that will be in the mix grove, malden and lawson

C3- maryville, richmond, cassville or mt vernon maybe from big 8, can burroughs get back in the mix.

C4- same story different year. Webb kearny cj hville. PARKWAY NORTH!(for real)

Parkway loses quite a bit, but do have #70 coming back. He was huge and pretty athletic.
Webb Obviously was young.
Kearney always graduates a lot, but seems to reload.
Not sure on CJ
Harrisonville I believe will return 6 on each side of the ball. Joe Bowers #7 is returning at RB, had a sophomore #24 start early at RB and got hurt mid season, and has a transfer that sat out this year, and from what I hear is a difference maker, who will be a senior. They also return both DE's, and few OL. If young guys step up they could make some noise again.

Class 5
Vianney is loaded
Battle will look very good
If Glendale can get a solid defense, they will out score everyone
Liberty North
Fort Osage

Lawson and Richmond graduated a ton. Heard both will be down.

Cassville played a lot of Sophs. They also have a decent freshman class. They should have a couple of good years in a row in the Big 8. Seneca is also on the rise in that district. They played Monett tough both times this year and have a good freshman class.

Who will be the top 4 or 5 teams in each class next year?
I usually post teams to watch just got too busy. In NWMO/KC metro here are a few to watch:
C6 Blue Springs, C5 Liberty North, C4 Platte County, C3 Center, C2 Summit Christian Academy. All of these teams return quite a bit (PC will miss Mitchell but lots of other key players return both sides of the ball). In particular watch the BS Cats' offense. It could be historically good if they can stay healthy.

Not sure on CJ
CJ returns a lot on offense. They return Zaqueon Weston at RB, the whole offensive line (which I hope will be better next year) and a few receivers. They will have to replace their QB, but I believe they had a sophomore this year who should fill that hole very well. They are suffering several loses on the defensive side, especially at LB and in the secondary. But they will have Zeke Wall back for his senior year on the defensive line. I think the offense will be improved, but the defense won't be as good.

Pierce City loses 4 starters off a 7-4 season. Returns srvc's dpoy.

Sarcoxie also gets a lot back and returns the srvc offensive player of the year.

Miller was pretty young iirc.

Rayquion Weston is the returning running back. All COC first teamer and yes indeed he'll have a more experienced o-line.

Zeke was the COC defensive player of the year. CJ for sure loses some good defenders but will have about half their defense back.

Horrible spelling and memory on my part. lol! It was like I was trying to combine his and his brother's name.

Webb returns most of its fan base so that's a bonus. Defense returns 10 with multi-game starts, the one replacement being Henderson at Safety. Could be one of the best units in all classes. Offense returns 6 starters with Larson, Robinson, and Beason playing enough time to be classified as a starter as well. They lose 2 tight ends, 1 running back, and I think 3 lineman. Finally found a solid punter late season but kicking has a hole. Hopefully all the coaches return as this should be another solid dynasty extension for multiple years to come. This year was an amazing year. For as young as they were the coaches lit a fire under them and they have some major experience and talent coming onto the field next year.

In st. louis area Vianney will be very good. St. Charles West started almost all juniors and their
Freshmen and Soph class very good they will be a force in class 3. Berkely was almost all
Juniors and will be very good. Lutheran St. Charles will be very good, they have 2 of the best
backs in small schools up hear. Trinity could be okay but as always players will leave and some
will come to the school a coaching change is possible as they change a lot. Kirk wood and Chaminade will be solid. Desmet should be better as they have been re building the last 3 years
and will finally have a solid core. Brentwood will be down as will Lutheran North. Pattonville
will return the best QB in the area and they could be decent. All the Parkway schools will
drop as they where senior dominated. Ft. Zumwalt north will drop as their QB was the huge part
of their team.

Hopefully, finding a solid punter will matter. Hope they will be punting a lot more next year ... in addition to having as many turnovers as they did this year. Lol!

Class 4. Excelsior Springs. They beat Harrisonville THIS year, and they have everyone back.

Smoke IT!

I'm going AGAINST my gut on all predictions, because this YEAR i HAD Kearney by 17 v. Harrisonville, I had Maryville, Staley, and Blue Springs to all win. YEAH!

Stamp it. Excelsior Springs. They will beat Kearney at District final 28-27...after the ball mysteriously bounces forward, then backward ten yards off a Kearney player and into the hands of a Tiger with 3 minutes left. Hail Mary, Excelsior WINS!

Anyone know what Richmod has coming back? Thought they had a chance to take down Maryvile this year.

Got to think that Oak Grove will be back next year, they were pretty young this year if I heard right.

Counted 22 seniors on Maryville this year. (I know, it doesn't matter).

Center may have some kids coming back but they lose a couple very very good players. game changers.

C5. Liberty has a lot coming back Not sure if Staley has anyone like J Ross to step in at RB.

Richmond has stud RB/WR Travon Alexander back but that's about it. Maryville I think will step back but still compete at the top of the State in Class 3.

Rawie is back and will be a Simone candidate for Liberty next fall. As for Staley some talent returning but nobody of Ross' caliber that I know of at RB. Next fall's Liberty-Liberty North game will be something ELSE..........

The Link has Richmond's starters vs Chillicothe in the district semi's..

Of course I'm gonna put my two cents in and say Penney will be back in the top again. QB is a senior but it will be interesting to watch how that transition pans out. Majority of that outstanding defensive/offensive line is returning so...don't sleep on em.

This little corner is going to make even more noise next year. Lamar of course, Monett now believes as well as cTOWN in Class 5. With their first COC title and a new stadium next year cARTHAGE will be pumped..slow down, WEBB CITY will roll. The COC will be back to norm with cARTHAGE having one loss heading into districts. WEBB had a bunch of youngins getting major game experience towards the end of the year and will get back to their undefeated seasons. Another 3PEAT begins in 17 STAMP that............

And little Ole CJ will continue to make noise in the COC and may even give the two goliaths above a scare. Just have to find a way to knock off the big bad bully in District play!

I can only comment on the teams I've followed in the COC Large...

WC I think everyone agrees will be better next year. They were very good this year, especially as the season progressed so they could once again be the power everyone associates with WC.

CJ sounds like they are shuffling a big, replacing a few keys but keeping some as well. So they may be about the same as this year, which was very good.

Carthage - I have no idea. I am pretty sure Guest took every snap this season so I don't know who is in the pipe to replace him. They graduated a ton last year and it didn't seem to hurt them, but having a QB with significant experience probably helped. It's hard to imagine they will be as good as the last two seasons but in the shadow of WC they have become a pretty consistent power over the last 10 years or so. So who knows.

I could see Neosho continuing to improve next year.

Nixa maybe about the same.

Unless Ozark graduated some of their key playmakers they might be a thorn for a lot of teams as well.

Will any of these compete for a state title? I would say WC or maybe CJ have the best chance. Carthage is the biggest unknown in my opinion and being in C5 I think they have a more difficult path aside from the obvious advantage of not having to go through WC.

I like Cassville and Seneca to look to challenge from SWMO, Monett will have to find a way to score points big holes to fill on the O-side of the ball, Defensively we have some players coming back but will also have a few holes to fill.
If I remember right I think some of Owensville play-makers were young so they could be good also.

Dont know much about Seneca. Cassville loses RB but will be tough no doubt

Not sure yet who the loaded teams are for 2017. I thought WM Chrisman was the most surprising team in 2016. WC proved to me that it's possible to be horrible for a long long time and catch lightning in a bottle.

Hornetsons, do you know if Harper is getting a look at college ball anywhere?

Having somebody kin to Joe Horn on your team helps.

Yes I do know... lol...
He is active in football and basketball so will just have to wait and see what his senior year will bring, since he is just a junior and enjoying high school right now. He's not just athletic but carries a high GPA so he is affording himself a lot of options.

Cassville's RB will be hard to replace as he did about all you could do, but they do have a nice RB who was a Soph. He is bigger and more physical, but he will get a lot of the carries next year. They also have some freshman (will be sophs) who should help out at skill spots.

Great, good for him. I didn't realize he was just a JR.

Seneca lost a lot of seniors mainly on O ad D line. The freshman class will be good and they have some incoming freshman that look to be good as well. 2nd year running the veer they should be a lot better.
