Moss is horrible at first base.
He made an error on an easy play in the first inning.
Then in the second, a dribbler right down the line was fielded by Martinez. Moss positioned himself in foul territory right in line with the running lane forcing Martinez to throw over the top of the runner. A high school first baseman would be smarter than that. Safe at first. Called a hit.
Then on a chopper well in front of the bag he let Utley score when he could have easily thrown him out at home. And ran back to the bag to touch first allowing the runner to go to second also. Just bonehead. He had a 4th bad play. Not to mention his brain cramp play last week.
Poor judgment is easily identified with the naked eye. Sabremetrics doesn't measure stupid.
