Helias Catholic High School, a diocesan school in the tradition of Christian Brothers and Sisters of
Notre Dame, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished individual to become the
school's next head football coach.
The Helias Catholic Football
Program holds 2 State Championships, 6 State Runner-Ups, and 23 District
Championships along with 119 All-State players and 13 All-Americans. The program has only had 5 head coaches
since opening in 1956. Our goal in hiring our 6th head football coach is to hire a coach who will be a
leader in our Catholic school and community for many years to come.
The ideal candidates will possess the ability to become a full-time member of the school community
for the 2015-2016 academic year.
· The ideal candidate will;
o understand, respect and be committed to the spiritual, academic, personal and athletic
formation of young men and women.
o
understand that football is an extension of the classroom that allows students to become well-rounded young men of strong moral character
o
appreciate the value of Catholic Education and possess a commitment to expand that appreciation
and its application to the personal development of young men and women.
o
have successful varsity head coaching or extensive assistant coaching experience at
the high school and/or collegiate level.
o
demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to the physical development of athletes
through a thorough and well-designed strength and conditioning program.
o
possess the ability to develop a comprehensive program that incorporates:
§ staff selection, development and formation
§ the preparation of students for post high school personal,
academic and athletic challenges
§ the promotion of Helias Catholic High School and its
football program as a representative of the Catholic Educational Tradition that
espouses excellence in all endeavors
o
possess outstanding leadership, communication and organizational skills.
