Super, super busy times here this winter so haven't attended one Boys/Girls BB game but very curious, given the playoffs are right around the corner, about this team in particular. Could they possibly hang with National top 5 IWA? Could Raytown or anyone else in the Metro area knock them off?

In my mind this is best long term Girls HSBB program in KC history. Am I wrong?

I haven't. Their 1 loss is to Conway. Conway is well below .500. They did beat Park Hill South. That is a tremendous win but it was early in the season. I am not sure how tough the rest of their schedule is but I am sure they would get blown out by IWA.

I thought they lost to Jonesboro AR. No MO losses but yeah I am probably grasping big time to find anyone who can compete for four quarters with IWA.

You are correct. Only losing by 3 to Jonesboro changes my opinion of them but still not to the level of IWA

They play fast. Most have been 4 year starters and played growing up on the same club team that fed Truman at the time. Think all three of their junior high (A,B,C) were undefeated which is crazy.
Strangely, Grain Valley wasn't on their schedule. I know IWA has a lot of height, would've liked to have seen them play Grace Slaughter before heading to the playoffs.

I think Truman’s starting PG tore her ACL. They did not sub much normally. It will definitely hurt them. It is too bad. They are a good team. I think IWA length and depth would give them a lot of trouble. They also have Raytown in their district. That is 2 really good teams with only one making it out.

Just read about it in the paper. Same game she got her 1000th point. What a shame. Hate seeing these things happen.

The issue with staying with IWA is there 2nd player off the bench is still an AAU player. You might come close to matching their first few players but after that you won't

Just saw three of Truman's starters all signed w JCCC. Quite impressive for three girls from the same school to sign with the same school considering how small basketball rosters are.
JCCC is grabbing lots of good high school athletes in every sport that are getting passed by due the extra year and transfer portal. I heard once they have more students than KState.

Who is JCCC?

Shocker of the year: Sub .500 Lee's Summit North beats Truman this afternoon!!!!!! Even given the Broncos were the hosts how did this happen??????

Losing their starting point guard doomed them. Just imagine Staley without Kyan Evans. When you have floor generals that are that good, it totally changes style, planning, etc when they aren't out there. Tough to adjust this late in the season.
I'm hoping Raytown's girls make a run.

I could see Raytown getting to the final four but they will have to play IWA in the semis. That will be a tough one for them.

I believe the Final Four road is now paved in front of Raytown.

IWA should play an exclusively National schedule and play in some sort of National title tourney this time of year. Not sure any MO C6 team will be able to hang within 20 of them.

Why MSHSAA basically renders the playoffs irrelevant for 1 class of girls basketball every year is unbelievable.

Make no mistake I admire and root for those kids like all the others but, yes, the C6 title is virtually formality HOWEVER I would love to be proven wrong this month!

I don't blame the kids. However every year they take away a special moment from a town when they are basically Link Academy. This year it could be Republic. Who knows.

Saw an article on Truman. Played 6 players all season. Lost the one to ACL and by the beginning of 4th qtr all three of their top players fouled out opening the door for LSNs comeback

No one in Missouri is likely to come within 20 points of Incarnate Word right now. Park Hill South over the next three years might have a shot, but they are it.
As far as the best long-term program----that would be pretty damning if so.
It is hard to find a consistent one across decades. Lee's Summit and Hickman Mills would have really solid arguments starting in the 1970s and culminating in the early 2010s---but their very recent history works pretty heavily against them (especially since HM is closed!).
In more recent times, Blue Springs would be about as good as any program, getting to 6 Final Fours in the past 15 years, but doesn't have as long of history to fit your description.
Lee's Summit North has been very consistently good since they opened, and Liberty has had prolonged success. But Truman (5 final fours since 1977 or so) could make a claim I suppose.
I would probably go with LSHS as my answer to this, but I had fun looking it over.
