The Lexington pick is really funny. In the spirit of that pick I select Sarcoxie in Class 1.

Except Webb and maybe CJ. Your quote should say I don't see anyone good in KC area and rarely does a strong contender emerge from the west in class 4.
I've seen three of those teams lose this season.

If Smithville was class 3 this year would be a favorite but they class 4 and will battle Kearney & PC for District 8
My fault - I looked at their schedule and thought surely they were Class 3. Confused.
OK - then here is my adjusted list:
C6 - Blue Springs
C5 - Staley
C4 - Kearney
C3 - Chilicothe
C2 - Lamar
C1 - Penny
Platte County couldn't beat WC or CJ. Defenses are to strong and PC defense not great.

That would make sense, because rarely is any team in Class 4 from the East in the Top 6. The state titles were won in the semis before they started the rotation three years ago
Not sure they can win their district but, if they do I think they (or who ever wins that district) will be in Columbia to face Lamar, LN, or Trinity. I think with the magnitude of that semi game you may be able to catch one of them a little complaisant in the Championship game. If that happens you never know.
Title games rotate between como and springfield. 6&8man will be in springfield this year. 1-5 in como
oddly enough, Walnut Heights was always in District 8, true story. look it up.

Or Haiti or Thayer or a half dozen others. I'd lean with one of the two you mentioned, but that's just a homer pick. Hell, Fayette is in the rankings. FAYETTE!!! Crazy year.
Dang, really enjoyed that Springfield smaller stadium atmosphere last year. Not sure I'd drive up to Columbia.
There are only 2 class two teams that might hang with Lamar and it ain't Lexington.

C1: Valle Catholic
C2: Lamar
C3: Center
C4: Webb City
C5: Staley
C6: Blue Springs
Here is where I am six weeks in:
C1: Valle Catholic (more confident than preseason)
C2: Lamar (no-brainer of them all)
C3: Center (seems to have recovered from Nevada)
C4: Webb City (confident but starting to get that Webb-Kearney feeling all over again)
C5: Staley (D has to step up in big games or this won't happen)
C6: WIDE OPEN between top three in Sub Gold and Rock.

After tonight Kearney is now moving onto my radar (this now feels a bit more 2015 than 2011 but will verify next Friday night) just not sure they have the consistent O to win it all. I do like them much better vs. the area's teams, though.

Come to think of it, according to the last map I looked at, Webb City was pretty west in the state of Missouri as well. Double-checked on Google Earth this morning. It still is!
