Guess who’s back….

Rumor has it he was in the booth with Lamar during the state playoffs when they beat Seneca. He was also at the junior high in Webb and wanted to be High School weights coach.

Why did he leave Lamar in the first place? Seemed like such and odd move, and has kinda sorted out that way after a couple years.

Kind of weird. He could have had the Webb job. He could have had the CJ job if he wanted to be a head coach but didn't want to follow Rod.

Nobody wants the CJ job because they don’t have a chance to contend. A great year will be 6-3 in confrence play. CJ is the East Newton of the COC. Too small but too big for other local conferences.

CJ has never come close to finishing last. These things go through cycles. An up cycle is coming soon.

He originally left for Jeff City. Not even he could turn around that mess. That’s his goal if he coaches. He wants to be a program starter. That obviously didn’t happen in JC. I think he felt as a head coach in Lamar he accomplished as much as anyone can with a program. Which is about as close to true as it can get.

I don't think he left because JC came open. I'm pretty sure he resigned prior to the job opening up, because Coach Walker left in June if I remember correctly. But you are correct that JC is a mess lol. They've gone through some really good coaches in the last decade and I wouldn't be shocked if Wells leaves soon.

No, I get WHERE he went and when he went there. But that JC job wasn't open when he stepped down. It just seemed odd all the way through. From the resignation to him taking that JC job. You don't have to talk to many people to know that place is a cesspool.

Webb has lost 2 hall of fame coaches the last few months. These next few years will be interesting at Webb. They still have talent so they will still win games but at what level will they be?

I assumed the talent was running out at Lamar when Bailey left. That was obviously incorrect.

I didn’t mean it like that. But yeah it’s a mess. I’m aware he didn’t step away from Lamar for that job. Obviously

That’s not what I meant by that. I didn’t think or believe that’s why he left. But the opportunity was, and he took it. Nobody in their right mind would leave a good situation for that intentionally.

Honestly I assumed the same. But a state title and two runner ups would sorta rule that out, huh?
We are hoping the now Junior class shows what they did in middle school and freshman year. Needs to happen anyhow lol

I heard he wanted the Adrian job two years ago but Veer wouldn't let him back in town based on a bad interest rate he tried to give him on a used S-10 in the late 90s at Adrian Bank.
