After Grichuk's 3K performance last night on his last AB today he went down 0-2 and then swung at a slider that started out of the strike zone and would have ended up hitting the far back corner of the left handers batters box if the catcher hadnt slid out and caught it. You cant fix stupid. Adhd.

Matheny went above and beyond today. He took out Wacha in a 1-1 game after letting him pitch only 4 innings so the pinch hitter could immediately hit into an inning ending DP. Of course Cecil couldnt get thru an inning unscathed and we lose another one run game.

The only reason they are even close to contention is the fact that the Cubs weren't playing half way to their potential but are now starting to kick it in. This group needs to be fundamental and they just aren't. For Grichuk to constantly swing at pitches that are closer to the first base bag than home..... He is not the only one though that does those increasingly annoying things. Matheny.... well the Wacha thing today was...........wow, Wacha has been one of the NL's top starters in his last few. Cecil rarely gets out of an inning without the other team scoring. I wonder what would happen if ole Cris Carpenter was pulled like that? In order for this team to be even .500 they have to have a heck of a lot better fundamental play and managing, dont see either getting much better. This coming from a Matheny supporter, its getting tough to keep on doing so. Wont get started on Mo's lack of moves the past couple of years. I wonder what Yadi thinks?...

Grichuk is the most frustrating Cardinals hitter in history.

Down by one run in the 8th with the bases loaded and two out, he took three strikes.
He takes gutted fastballs every night and swings at crap every night.

Just awful.

The pitch he should have hit about a mile was the little curve right down the middle on the 1st pitch. Another other was the breaking ball right down the middle for strike 3. He did well laying off the slider low and outside but he HAS to swing the bat in that situation when there is a hittable pitch. He ain't on this team to take a walk with the tying and go ahead runs on base in the 9th.

That guy they didn't trade picked up his 10th win tonight even after giving up the early HR he kept it right there for 6 innings.

Lance Lynn is a fierce competitor and a winner. I am hoping they are going to sign him. He is making himself some coin. If he leaves its another flat tire on the Mo bandwagon.

Ducky you know he is gone. He wont't fit the algorythym known as money vs youth which means less money. Say bye bye Lance. Better to pay somebody less with a small sample size that has potential than to pay a lot for a proven commodity

Would love to see him signed and move Wacha to back end of pen. Am I the only one that thinks he'd be a lights out closer or setup guy?

Wacha would do well in that role. I know it is an unpopular thought but I wouldn't mind seeing Waino back in the pen for the latter innings
