Since Monday I have continued to think about what has happened to Missouri. In my lifetime we have gone from John Danforth to possibly Greitens. I don't agree with Danforth politically and he really hurt us by pushing Thomas for the SC and standing behind him during the Hill controversy. But no one can argue that he isn't a good person with a standing of trying to do what he believes is the right thing. Democrats can respect Danforth and even Ashcroft. I hope John Wood is closer to Danforth and Ashcroft than Greitens. If nothing else he will save us from being a laughing stock on the national stage.

John Ashcroft was anti-public education his entire life. We ranked in the upper 40s in teacher salaries while he was Governor. He didn’t value education. He was a pos.
Carnahan cared and upgraded our schools, including teacher salaries and pension plans.
Opinions of Ashcroft were so low, a dead Carnahan defeated him in the senate race in 2000. A moment to be proud of Missouri.
