I posted some information about them a few months ago when we found out they were in the tournament. I’ll have to dig it up.
I honestly thought nixa would take them based on what Ive seen from both teams in this tournament
Nixa did not make a 3 point shot. Greenwood made 9. Continuing to drive into the interior of a zone and barf up a contested floater is no way to try to win. Nixa has no real outside threat. Same thing with Kickapoo. They made 3 3-point shots between yesterday and today. If you can’t shoot, sooner or later you run into a real Coach, he/she dorks your non-threats, and you can’t score.
The first time Nixa played WP, they had at least 4, maybe 5 different girls that made 3Ps that game.
It is possible that Nixa just had a bad night.
No offense, but it’s far easier to shoot against lesser competition. Nixa could only play 7 tonight due to the opponent being better. Nixa struggles to shoot, as does Poo.
You sure? You see the CJ beat down? Coach won’t even let them shoot. Gonna waste another good roster.
I watched the Nixa vs CJ game on the youtube link in the other thread. Nixa's problem isn't that they can't shoot, it's that they can't execute on offense against the better defending teams. Poor passing, poor spacing, lack of movement away from the ball, etc... it was turnover city tonight for them.
They made 5 3's in the game, but their strategy was mainly to work the high post against the CJ zone and numerous times those passes got picked off. Couple that and all the other turnovers with a lot of bad shots and missing open players, and that's why Nixa lost.
Buerge is known mainly for her offense but she's a good defender too, had several steals and deflections and was in general just disruptive.

She had 30 even though she was being face guarded a lot when she didn’t have the ball. Very impressive.
Nixa did a good job on Scott, doubling or even tripling her when she got it down low and they made her turn it over a few times
Yes I am still sure, saying Nixa has no outside threat is a bit of a stetch.
As Razzy said that was not the reason they lost.
