I used to scheduled my activities to make sure i was near the tv during the inning he was going bat. I mean every damn day.
That was a special time.

Kinda took if for granted. Just assumed he'd be healthy and hitting in the 3 hole for about 15 yrs. Man, when he fell off the cliff, he fell hard.

It's amazing how important a good base is to a great hitter. All of those foot injuries really messed him up.

Allen Craig is still a mind blower. If he stays healthy 2-3 more years he is an all time Cardinals favorite (not a HOFer but a STL hero ) given his clutchness. Talk about a drop off.

What everyone seemed to think was merely a sprained ankle (albeit, a rough one) totally derailed a career. Nuts.

He still would have led the Birds in HRs and RBI the last 2 to 3 years.
