Both divisions ought to be competitive. Looks like the West will be very tough. What's everyone think about the GRC this year?

Stanberry will be interesting to watch. But watch King City. Have some athletes plus a new coach. Will be a team to watch

I don't know much about the new additions of Milan or Putnam County. I think both will be competitive in what should be a competitive but maybe not as strong east division. Putnam has some pretty good athletes lost their season opener. I hear Milan's JH team that is now mostly freshman has been very good in the past. Polo lost Parker Smith who was a very good player but return James Fleener who is a solid ball player. Gallatin lost their top 2 scorers have a new coach and will be interesting to see how they compete this year. Maysville loses a couple starters but are very scrappy and are a hard nosed team. South Harrison lost at least one post player but returns most of their team. Princeton experienced some late season football success will be interesting to see how that plays o
ut on the basketball court, they do have some athletic players. Trenton might be the favorite because they are the biggest school and only major losses are the Mullinex kids from a solid team last year. A lot of change on that side of the conference I would say.

Gallatin tournament coming up has 4 of the East division members and one member of the west in it.

Worth County also expected to be tough in the West with a lot of size.

Saw some scores for first games last night. As expected King City looks tough. Stanberry got the win vs. Mound City last night. Interesting start to the year for those 2.

West is absolutely stacked. North Andrew and Stanberry should be favored but I think any out of those 2, SJC, Worth County or Braymer could win it. Pattonsburg and King City will give the upper teams some battles. Albany will probably finish last.

SJC beat DeKalb 71-13 last night. DeKalb lost a lot from last year but SJC looked like a much better team last night than I have seen in the past.

Yeah that side is going to be rough. Every single one of those teams could go out and beat someone every night. Wouldn't be shocked to see a very close finish near the top of the conference. They are all gonna beat each other I think.

GRC Boys 4-0 tonight with Worth County beating South Nodaway 86-23. http://www.maryvilledailyforum.com/sports/article_8fb0a6be-bb70-11e6-bfb2-bffc2dd28464.html

St. Joseph Christian came back to beat Rock Port 40-38 after trailing by double digits early.
Maysville beat Tri-County 47-21 and Polo defeated East Harrison 46-32.

There are 8 games on the schedule for Tuesday night:

Albany at Maysville
South Harrison at Braymer
King City at Mound City
Gallatin at North Andrew
Tri-County at Pattonsburg
Scotland County at Milan
North Harrison at Princeton
Trenton at Marceline

Tonight's scores and standings.

Maysville 45 Albany 22
Braymer 63 South Harrison 47
Mound City 42 KingCity 41
NorthAndrew 85 Gallatin 52
Pattonsburg 66 Tri-County 25
Scotland County 79 Milan 77
Princeton 60 North Harrison27
Marceline 65 Trenton 40

Winston caused 1 of those losses. Trenton another. Winston looks GOOD. The younger Lewis scores in bunches.

I really thought Trenton Winston would be a dogfight. I was wrong.
The 3 losses were
Albany vs. Northeast Nodaway 31-24
King City vs. Jefferson 63-51
King City vs. Mound City 42-41

How I should have worded it is 14-3 against non-GRC teams.

Winston beat Trenton and Gallatin who are in the GRC East (and play Polo tomorrow night).

GRC West is 6-5 vs. GRC East.

Putnam County and Milan should both be pretty competitive in the East division. Putnam is pretty guard heavy and Heidenwith can score in bunches. They won their opener against Macon, but then lost their second game to Novinger. Outside of a couple players, they play a lot of sophomores, so might see some up and down scores from them. Milan has a good scorer in Bolle, but will be very young with a few freshman seeing good minutes. Should be a pretty entertaining conference, but I would say the West division will probably be tougher on a nightly basis.
