Parsons held off as long as he could before ordering state shutdown. Wondering if he was getting federal pressure? He was really stressing local control on restrictions. I can kind of see his point - looking at a map there are lots of rural counties far north and south with no confirmed cases yet.

I know walmart now is counting customers in the store and limiting, and it's apparent people are limiting trips to grocery stores as I've noticed fewer people. Grocery/retail stores will now have limited customers. Quick shops seem like business as usual except for giving you a cup.

Rules in effect until April 24th, maybe longer. ....

I was at the Walmart neighborhood market here in P.B. yesterday about 4 to get some stuff my wife called in for them to bring to the car. The parking lot there was as full as I've ever seen it and there is no way they were counting people or stopping anyone from going through their door.
I went to Home Depot yesterday thinking I could walk in the open doors in the garden shop, use my card to pay for some mulch and go load it myself. They had people at the entrance and a sign telling me I had to go through the front door and walk halfway through the store to get to the garden shop so I could be counted. I had NO reason to go inside the store so I just left and bought nothing. Strange way to do it if they MAKE you go inside rather than stay in the open air garden shop area and wait til no one else was in the checkout line to pay for my mulch, go get it and get out of there.

I'm playing golf this morning and until they run us off. Some of the regulars played yesterday. Too cold for me. For two weeks our course has shut down the main shop and bar. They put the pro in the cart barn to check us out with a IPad. Carts are single only. Not sure if they will do this next week. Supposed to warm up next week.

My local course closing down Monday. The golf course seems like a pretty safe place to be but locals will gripe.

No kidding. Bummer. Many of the resident walkers and dog walkers this morning are wearing masks. I guess I will wear mine if headquarters wants me to go to the store after the round.

Golf is fine if you walk, space, and don’t touch the hole or flag.
The flags are in a fixed hole position. We don't pull them out. We had to make a new rule for our skins game. If it hits the flag pole on a putt, and bounces out, the putt counts. The screw housing at the bottom is wide. One guy chipped one on the pole, we said no way. Lol
Looks like my course will remain open unless they come out and shut us down.

I guess the stores are counting the numbers of occupants to alleviate over crowding.

My point was the store I was talking about is supposed to be counting people but parking lot was over flowing and people were going is a fast as they got out of their cars. There was no counting and this is a much smaller store than a regular walmart.

Parson is uneducated. He doesn’t use proper grammar. He is not executive material. He is an MP, a sheriff, a farmer and a gas station owner. All good and noble professions. That does not equate to being chief executive of a state in 2020.

But he does have an R along with his name on a ballot, that's all it takes to win in Missouri.

I’m thankful for someone who knows the law, knows how to run a business and has common sense. There’s no way to “win” as a leader right now. Lifelong politicians aren’t for the people as they often haven’t been “the people”.

He's a decent guy, no question. And I think he has done fine. Not who I'd pick in a vacuum, but he's doing fine

Parsons was in cahoots with MO Rep state legislators in trying to backdoor "right to work" legislation after it was defeated by 35% in '16 election.

Disagree, I always chuckle that it was a Democrat that dropped the bomb and a republican that freed the slaves.
The war in the Pacific was effectively over after Midway. Germany and Japan were spent forces by the end of 1942. It was only a matter of time. When Truman became President, they were both in horrible shape.

What could happen in 155 years to make parties realign?

No bombs no Japanese surrender. The numbers vary in the lives that were saved from millions to ten million.

You are correct about the parties evolving over the years but that doesn’t change history or me chuckling .
