Gordon tells it pretty much like it is

WE said this last winter. WE saw this coming the year before. Yawn. It will repeat itself. We think we have the SS position set now. We dont. Pitching wont improve unless the defense does. The defense wont improve unless we bring in different players.

Carp is a DH. We dont have a #3 or #4 hitter. We said rhis last year. Now Chicago AND Milwaukee AND Arizona AND Colorado have blown by us.

FWIW...Kind of a cool place, IMHO. Now, if the Birds could just get a middle of the order banger, a slick fielding SS, and an innings eater...I'd be one happy camper the one weekend of the season I head to downtown STL and decide to lose my ever loving mind in BPV.

If the protesters continue and the Birds lose more ground this week downtown will look like a ghost town unless Cubs fan's fill the place.

No kidding. Love all the touchy feely responses to this sort of stuff. Think if they knee capped a protester or two this stuff would stop???

Before some sensitive sally gets all riled up, I was joking. Kinda.

They could also try arresting people without shooting them. Nah.

Maybe some folks could try NOT ramming a police car and leading them on a chase. I can't think of any of these shooting incidents where if the person who got shot would have complied with a police officer's orders he would most likely be alive today.

You need to pay better attention.
The guy sitting in his car with his girl friend and child who got pumped with lead when he told the officer he had a concealed carry permit, among others. The unarmed kid running away who was shot in the back. Dont make me list them all.

The unarmed kid running away, was running away AFTER he disobeyed the officer when he was told to get on the sidewalk. How hard is it to comply with that? THEN he struggled with him through his car window and tried to get his hands on the officers gun.
The guy that told the officer he had a gun permit disobeyed the officer by reaching into his glovebox after repeatedly being told not to. Should the cop have waited to see if pulled a gun out of his glovebox? Very tragic incidents that DIDN'T have to happen.

You are thinking of a different incident.
I guess if u r too lazy to run after someone you just shoot him instead. Wtfreak

Say what you want it wasnt like this when we were kids. And yes there were people misbehaving back then just like they are now.

Bad apples (police and criminals) in every position that ruin it for the ones that do as they should. MOST that get national attention could've been avoided by complying. It's really that simple. But the media and social media and protesters pump fear into both sides with their stories and reactions. And all that does is make the next situation that much more adrenaline filled for both sides. I've read an awful lot about the Brown incident. I have zero issue with the shooting. If that makes me a bad person, so be it.

All the media does is look for money and clickbait stories. That's the huge difference between now and when we (I know I'm a generation younger) were kids. They want to sensationalize anything and everything.

Couldn't agree more. This age of instant communication has been both good and bad for society.

And here's a question. Why do black lives only seem to matter when a black criminal is shot by a white cop every so often but not so much when one is shot by another black criminal every night in north St Louis? Why don't the protesters go march in those neighborhoods and try to make a difference? If some progress could be made with that issue the other issue would likely also slow down. It's one of the biggest disappointments I had of the Obama presidency. He had a great opportunity to make a positive difference in those poor black neighborhoods all over the country. Yet about all he did was jump on the bandwagon and make it worse.

Those instances don't fit the agenda.

Take it to the other forum, but I'd say that the government doesn't provide weapons, training, etc. to civilians. They do for the police, and they very clearly have a higher responsibility for their actions.
