Good Eats in West Plains

If you're looking for a good atmosphere and decent food, Hibbys Sports Grille on 160 on the southern edge of town.

El Charros in WP is hands down the best authentic mexican food I've ever had in all my travels.

Ruby Tuesday is great food as well, but just a little more on the expensive side.

There's also Ozark Cafe on Missouri Ave, they will serve you breakfast all day or anything else. Probably the best all around place to eat for the price and the portions and quality of the food, depending on what you get.

Do the WP players still do the taunting of the other crowd and players before the game? When I first saw it, it seemed inappropriate for various reasons (such as coming shortly after the sportsmanship creed was read) but then I've heard from others that it's sort of a tradition they do every game.

If so, get a look at it Lib Dad and let us know your opinion.

I didn't see anything like that; they came out of the tunnel to some music and theatrics and brought their flag to midfield and huddled up, but nothing unsportsmanlike or what I'd call even close to taunting.

Do you have to stay on the half of the field you warm up on for introductions?

At WC the boys are announced and the run from the endzone down the middle of the field, turn towards the home bench at the 35 and through a banner near the sideline. Cheerleaders, Redetts, etc line the 30 & 40 yard lines. A few weeks ago for some reason the girls got it wrong and lined up on the 35 & 45 and one of the official lost his mind and wanted the white hat to have them move because he claimed they could not be there, must be on the 40 and south. The white hat told him it was not that big of a deal and it was too late to fix as the kids were about to run out.

Taunting of the other team and crowd?? That's a laughable statement. Which game are you referring to that this supposedly happened and apparently offended you in such a way??

vs CJ last year. Had a couple of guys with me from work. All 3 of us, the CJ fans near us, and coaches on the sideline reacted to it. About 3 or maybe 4 WP players approached to about 3/4's of the way to the CJ sideline and began taunting the sidelines and stands with posturing of invitations to fight or bring it on Friend of mine with kids who played in the Ozarks Conf said he had seen this before too. Those are all the facts you asked for.

Laughable? Yes, when about five minutes later on the game's first play CJ ran off an 80-yard TD run on their way to a 28-7 lead.

No, what I find laughable is you bring it up a year later, when you now know you won't get the chance to play West Plains again. Or for a district title.
Take your personal jabs at the team, that's fine. Now all you're doing is taunting for something that "supposedly" took place in the past and is done and over with. Anyways, best of luck this Next week.

You asked. I guess the truth hurts. I'd have about 1,000 witnesses supporting me I suppose if it came down to that.

If the WP players don't do it anymore, that's good. If they still do it, it'll be noticed again by many I'm sure.

I asked what game, you didn't have to go trashing high school football players on a thread about good places to eat in West Plains. Obviously you were offended but it apparently doesn't take very much to do that. I'm sure you'll be offended when the turbo clock is on after halftime this week too.
