Monte Ball - Timberland & Darrian Miller - Blue Springs should be 3 and 4 on your RB list. Also Nathan Scheelhasse - Rockhurst and Brett Gabbert - CBC on the QB list.

MY opinion of greatest Missouri High School football players all time;
Defense: Grant Wistrom, D end, Webb City. WHy? Because he & his teams won Championships at Webb, Nebraska, and in the NFL.
Offense: Ezekiel Elliot, cause he was also excellent in College and the NFL.
Quarterback: Alex Huston, Glendale, I think he has a lot of the records. (I know, fooseball is a lot different today than 10, 20 years ago.)
Special Teams: No idea.

It has been a long time & I was a year younger. I knew they were good but was not aware they were great. (my older brother played against them in Jr Hi via CJ) Nevertheless, it seems they had like 8 D-I players. Weimer, Cockrell, a pair of Tuppers, is whom I can think of now. How the heck does Joplin have all that talent in the late 70's early 80's? Insert Jolin Memorial basketball here too.

DeAndre Vandevender, RB out of Trenton HS. Played LB at Northern Iowa. Was a great HS player. I believe he was 6’2 215 lbs running a 4.5.

LJ Fort, RB out of Waynesville. Was like 6’1 220 running a 4.5. Won a Class 5 championship at Waynesville in 07. Played LB at Northern Iowa. And was in the NFL for 3-4 years, maybe still is.

Defensively
Jairus Byrd of Clayton HS in St Louis.
He was a 2-way starter at QB and Safety.
Watched them beat Webb in the dome about 14 years ago or so.
Played collegiatedly as a DB at Oregon.
Played 8 years in the NFL for the Bills, Saints, and Panthers.
PAC 10 freshman of the year in 2006
Led the NFL in interceptions in 2009
Career NFL Statistics from 2009-2017:
524 Tackles
4 sacks
13 forced fumbles
6 fumble recoveries
25 interceptions and 2 defensive TDs

Some old timers will remember him - Mario Johnson, who was the DT/FB who played for hazelwood central in the 1986 show-me-bowl ( loss to Rockhurst). At 6’3, 285, He was a man among boys. Later played at Mizzou and a little bit of nfl.

That man-child could throw a discus if memory serves me correct

Defense: Roger Weherli, Justin Smith, Steve Atwater
QB: Drew Lock, Trent Green, Pitchin' Paul Christman
RB: Tony Galbreath, Gary Anderson, and James Wilder

When I think of Memorial--I think of Marques Rodgers. He should have of been in NFL.

For a player that dominated both sides of the ball TE/DE. The older Rucker brother from St Joe Benton. (cant remember his first name) played at Nebraska then Carolina Panthers. He physically looked like a grown man in high school.

Ungah blork snit?
Does this mean you were for Parkwood? lol Or maybe before your time. While Parkwood was winning/runner-up for state titles--the 2nd best player(behind AC) in Joplin played for the other school(Memorial).. Rodgers--a very sad case of wasted talent. He had the talent to do well in college and go on to a NFL job, but sadly none of that happened.

No, Raw is quoting an old poster one here. He would post things that made no sense or quote people, or keep asking the same question. For example, he would often quote some coach, who said something along the line of, "Were gonna run the, 'put their left defensive tackle in the hospital' offense" or simply, "News?" And I am pretty sure he kept naming dropping Mark McGuire

RB: "Movin'" Marvin Johnson Potosi

Movin Marvin was a super player.
He put up some huge numbers despite being held to 36 yards his junior year vs a certain team of swarming desperados in blue helmets. Boom!!

I am probably spelling his name wrong but Mohammed Abdul Kadir from Eureka was a pretty incredible talent. I think he started off at Washington State. I always thought if they put him at tailback in the I, he would have run for a gazillion yards instead of a bazillion.

Ok thanks! I'm not on here enough to get it. But I thought runbilly would understand being he brought up Memorial High school.

His brother Patrick did pretty well for himself as well. Great career at Purdue and short stint in the NFL.

He was real good. Had a great career at Carbondale, was first team all american I believe.

Eureka has had some good RB's, one of if not the best they had was Ernest Blackwell. Was a bit before my time but he was a man amongst boys. Had a good career at Mizzou, brief NFL run. Troubled soul.

Is this the GOAT HS List or the GOAT HS but what they do in College or Pros matters just as much? And man anytime the SW Missouriners starts talking about schools that havent been around in 30+ plus years I know its my time to leave and check back in when September comes around to the talk about another All-Private State Sweep in 2019.

That’s fishing with some serious stink bait.

Anyone remember the name of the D-lineman at John Burroughs in mid to late 90s? Tall kid who was as quick as @$!#. I think he originally committed to Stanford and might have ended up at Northwestern before he got hurt. We had to influence/sucker block that kid all night.
