Glendale's QB sets national single game passing records for yards and attempts...

"So what", "big deal", "defense sucked"...

First time anyone in the history of high school football in America has passed for this many yards in a game and it's "not that big of a deal"???

I'm sure whoever held the record before this did it against a questionable defense as well, but the record still counts!

Haters

Agreed for the most part. I've seen in the past when a RB runs for 300+ against someone and everyone wants to say " oh their defense was terrible and that back played the whole game." but you look at the final score and it was neck and neck so.... damned if you do, damned if you don't. haha

"Huston went 70 for 88 with 824 passing yards and nine touchdowns in Glendale's 69-58 win over Parkview.

His 824 passing yards breaks the year-old single-game passing record set by Princeton's Andrew Smith on Oct. 14, 2016. Smith threw for 663 yards.

Huston also owns the third, seventh and eighth highest passing yard totals in a single game.

By going 70 for 88, Huston broke his own state passing attempt and completion records.

He threw 72 times in an Oct. 2, 2015 game against Rolla. He set the single-game completion record in the same game with 53.

Huston also broke the single-game touchdown record by adding a rushing touchdown to his total as he ended with 10 on the night.

His nine touchdown passes ties him with himself (twice) and with one other for most touchdown passes in a single game."

Very impressive feat regardless. I enjoyed seeing Glendales success last year, mainly because I have a lot of respect for their coach and what he has accomplished with his players both in Missouri and Ohio, but I just wish Glendale's defense was a little better, next year, Huston will be gone and without their system QB or a defense it looks to be difficult for Glendale moving forward.

Do you think it's possible for Mauk to be looking to make a move after the graduation of Huston?
Possibly his elder son taking over for him at Glendale and Mike looking to go to a different school?

I don't know the man personally, so I'm not making any accusations of disloyalty to the program, but from the outside looking in, it would make sense for him to make another move after this season.
