Glendale might surprise some teams in this tournament. They have some tall girls that can handle the ball. As a team they move well without the ball and made a high percentage of their shots in this game. The Republic game tomorrow might get interesting. As for Carthage, Yates & the Boyd girl played well. The rest of the team seemed to just be watching the game instead of playing in it. They might want to work on setting some picks, boxing out & playing with some fight in them.
I figured that if there was an upset in the first round, this would be it. Glendale looks much better this season than in the recent past with a new coach, some lengthy athletic girls and a freshman who is a good shooter and overall player.
They play Kickapoo tomorrow and I think it'll be closer than people might think. Kickapoo is nothing really special this yr, they lack size. But their quickness will give Glendale problems and that'll be why they win, if they do. Glendale can win if they play smart and disciplined
