Garcia making management take a good look

and no decision can be made yet on the 5th starter spot. Still 3 pretty good options for that spot, none of which will be big innings eaters but the pen should be able to handle the load.

If Garcia can stay healthy and that is a big if it makes the Birds that much better. Martinez has been successful in the bullpen and Gonzalez can get his work at Memphis or maybe they could swing a trade to help their popgun offense.

Heard Hummel on 920 this morning. Said Garcia will get the 5th spot, CMart to the pen, and Marco to Memphis. Seems to be the most logical thing at this point.

My take...Garcia gets a half dozen good starts or so, then gets moved for some offense...hopefully. Unless the offense shows actual...um...offense. Then maybe it's one of the younger starters in a package for a Hammels-type guy at the deadline. Or...Marco is used for insurance in the inevitability that either Waino's elbow blows up, Wacha's shoulder breaks, or Lackey kills MM on a mound visit. All of which I could see happening.
