One of the earliest recruits to commit to the Missouri Tigers
is one of the very best members of the Show-Me State Class of 2011. Lee's
Summit quarterback
Corbin Berkstresser earns the No. 4 ranking in the Missouri Pre-Season Top
20.
Ranked No. 13 among pre-style quarterbacks nationally by
Rivals.com, Berkstresser has impressed at combines around the country.
Standing 6-foot-3 inches, he weighs 224-pounds, possessing an outstanding arm.
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Barry Every had the following comments on
Berkstresser's performance at the Elite11.
"The biggest thing he's going to have to work on is that he's
slow on some of his drops," Every said. "He really needs to do stuff where he
puts his feet up and down, and sometimes he's a little mechanical on his throws.
But he's got a strong arm. He's showed tremendous accuracy today, good spin on
his passes and he's a big kid. He was one of the biggest surprises for me today,
because he's improved quite a bit from when we saw him down in San Antonio."
Potential and continued growth are keys to the bright future
for current and future Tiger, Berkstresser. Scouts feel he will fit nicely
into the MU system, he has all the tools (size, arm strength, accuracy) to be
successful at the next level.
This season Berkstresser will help newly hired head coach Eric
Thomas turn around the Lee's Summit squad which finished 4-7 a season ago in a
very challenging Suburban Gold league. The talented signal caller should
thrive in the spread offensive system that Thomas will certainly employ.
