Fowler

Fowler has never done it for me. Cards doubled his salary and said he was the CF and lead off guy we needed. But he's been neither and is just another player, who happens to make $16.5M. And we still owe him $50 over the next 3 years. I don't expect him to get any better.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but if the Cards had any idea Pham was going to do what he did last year and so far this year I'd bet they'd never have signed Fowler.

It's like he forgot how to hit from the right side. He's not exactly tearing it up from the left side either, but sheesh...he's almost 50 points HIGHER for his career from the right side. Granted, he has zero pop from that side. But he's nearly a .300 hitter as a righty in his career. It's so strange.

At this point, I'd say give Bader a handful of starts and see what you get. He for darned sure can't be any worse. At least Marp is starting to hit the ball harder. Hopefully he snaps out of it. If not, an IF of JMart/Wong/Dejong/Gyorko doesn't sound bad really. Not sure who said it the other day, but I kinda like the idea of Marp being the Zobrist of the Birds. Can play him in corner OF spots and 1B/2B/3B.

You think Carpenter would check his arrogance long enough to be a utility guy?

Good to see Fowler and Wong in the lineup again today. Makes C Marti our 6th best hitter in the lineup.

Fun stat...After CMart's slam a lam a ding dong today...his OPS is higher than three regulars. Including the cleanup hitter. Now that's a fun stat!
