Receiver knocked the DB down and wasn't going for the ball. After he knocked the DB down, he ran another 4-5 steps and made the catch. Pass interference.
In the second quarter, Joplin DE jumps offsides on west plains punt formation, gets called for encroachment. He then gets in the refs face and starts arguing, unsportsmanlike conduct flag. Then he continues to argue with the ref for another 5-10 seconds, then he's walking off the field and turns around and continues to yell every 5 steps or so almost to the sideline and isn't kicked out... that was mind-blowing, and then the coach puts him back in after sitting out a play if I'm correct, WoW haha. Discipline.
West Plains finished with 2 INTs, a fumble recovery, and stopped Joplin on 4 out of 5 4th down conversion attempts tonight. And I'm pretty sure they held Joplin under 75 rushing. That makes 3 or 4 of the games this year that a WP opponent hasn't been able to rush for at least 100 yards against them as a team.
Joplins defense was a little impressive. Did way better against WP run game then most, but couldn't stop WP through the air when they needed to.
Joplin QB was real tough and probably the quickest QB in the conference, D-Line and linebackers were all over him all night and he kept getting back up. That first sack definitely rang him though. Kudos to him for sticking it out.
That's the worst game the WP offense has played so far this year. They pulled it out, but it was definitely a battle.
Hats off to Joplin for not giving up. Great effort by both teams.
