Due to my son having school board meeting tonight we had to change plans, so today we went west to some places we have not been and he has started loading some pictures. Not sure when he will get all loaded. Remember that we not are not just doing football fields, if the school has other fields on their site, we will try to get pictures. Here is where we went today.

Crest Ridge - football, baseball & softball
Holden - football & baseball, we had not been there
Pleasant Hill - football and softball, we had not been there
Belton - football, baseball and softball
Grandview - only got softball, needs work. Could not get to baseball, have football already
Rockhurst - football, that is all we saw, surprised it was not nicer
Center - football, we had been there before, but add pictures
University Ac. - thanks to their AD to let us in, nice school and fields, very different track
Interscholastic League/Southeast - we were surprised, nice place
St. Theresa Ac. - this is a really a very neat place. Loved turfed softball field, great uses of one field for different sports
Pembroke Hill - football only, I was kind of speechless, we did not know what was going on with the grass, it looked dead. They were watering it. Press box is small and a little different.
Lincoln Prep - football field was gone, not sure if they redoing it building something else
Central Ac. - football, no lights or press box and small seating, but field was nice
Raytown - football, we had been there before and really could not take more pictures, a lot of people on the fields. Where does Raytown play softball & baseball?
Raytown South - football, softball and baseball - nothing special about softball, but baseball field is probably best baseball field we have every seen. Football field is nice also.
St. Michaels - could only find a practice football field, where do they play games. School was very nice.
Lee's Summit Christian - Football & baseball, I will be honest, parking lot was a long way from field so I stayed in the car so Luke went down to take picture. So when you see them so will I.

We are heading out early on Friday morning, heading to the SW Missouri. We hope to see as many as we can, but long ways in one day.

One thing we noticed today that about 60% of the schools we saw was doing some type of construction.

Really should come back north sometime to Weston and come see our baseball and softball field. Both brand new with turf to go along with the football field that you have already seen

This is the busiest time of the year for school administrators and maintenance (due to construction). If you come to SWMO and go to Carthage--they now have the tennis courts built at the stadium. I don't know when or if they have started building the tennis locker rooms underneath football home seats. Their field houses/indoor athletic facilities are nice. Only thing--no restrooms on visitor side. What looks like restrooms is actually the soccer field house. Hope you have a safe trip!

There is construction at Carthage and at Junge Field (Joplin). You should still be able to get good shots at Carthage though - the construction at this point is mostly just the indoor practice/archery complex right behind the field house. There is no reason to stop by the old stadium at the Jr High especially if you've already seen it, plus that school is closed for a total remodel.

If you end up in Carthage let me suggest you stop in at Cave Gang Pizza. Cool place. If you prefer burgers - Woodshed on the square is pretty cool as well. In Joplin I'd say try Hackett's or Instant Karma downtown, both awesome. Or there is Eagle Drive-In and Tropicana a little further down Main. Joplin has a decent amount of great local restaurants. Webb City also has a neat little micro brewery that just opened.

Here is where we have been today so far: wheatland, weableau, Humansville and Stockton. Heading to Greenfield.

Just left Carthage and that place is awesome. That indoor building is huge. Is it going to for indoor football? I had to walk a little to get pictures of the inside the stadium.
My understanding is that it will have basically half of a football turf field and be used by a variety of activities but primarily archery. Archery is actually very popular in Carthage.

The story behind it- someone donated $500,000 for an archery facility - originally this was a community thing but when the school dist got wind of the deal, they got the donor to redirect the effort and build the facility on school property and the school pitched in some naming rights $ they had sold to expand it's uses beyond just archery. Which makes a lot of sense to me although I don't think the archery program was super thrilled with how it worked out because originally it would have been theirs and only theirs. But it's a really good facility for the district and it's not costing taxpayers a dime. The new tennis courts were also completely funded with a different private donation.
