Excelsior Springs – Pembroke Hill, Platte County, St. Pius X Jamboree

Acoording to what I read via Twitter Excelsior Springs got the better of Platte County. If you believe everything you read on social media.

PC vs ES: Neither team was able to run between the tackles, other than one QB keeper by Excelsior Springs, but I'm sure the vanilla play calling had something to do with that. Platte County had some success passing the ball on Excelsior Springs. If PC's receivers had done a better job of landing in-bounds on sideline catches it would have been pretty even. ES did "win" with 2 TDs to 1 (12 plays each). ES mostly played their JV against the other opponents.

One thing I'd be interested in seeing is if officials are going to call linemen illegally downfield when the ball is thrown with so many running post-snap RPOs these days. That's a huge disadvantage for a defense to see several linemen 5 yards downfield while a vertical route is running by them. If not, it may be a high scoring year for spread offenses.
