Worldwide countries have shut down coal fired plants in favor of "cheap" natural gas. Problem is its not cheap these days and is going to just keep getting more expensive.

Biden is digging his own grave

It's a world wide market.

Duh, not the smartest move shutting down coal fired power plants when there is nothing to replace them with. People may freeze to death this winter because they cant afford to heat there home but they will be breathing clean air right up to the end

That's pretty hyperbolic....plenty of energy assistance programs both Gov. and Private to keep that from happening.

But I agree scuttling cheap and plentiful energy is a poor plan.

Coal is NOT cheap energy.

Sure we have almost 450 years worth of recoverable coal.......Why do you think it's not cheap? It is the Least expensive source for its energy output this is a known fact by I thought everyone.

Not long ago, coal was the cheapest form of energy. Now, solar and wind plants are half the cost of new coal plants. Cheap renewable energy and low-priced batteries are anticipated to lead to wind and solar producing 50 percent of the world’s electricity generation by 2050. This is a known fact by I thought everyone.

You are about clueless

the amount it takes to build a coal powered generating plant has only gone through the roof because of EPA regulations on smokestack emissions

Wind and Solar is a fantasy land, and we would have to have a battery bank the size of Texas to run the united states for a day if the wind stopped blowing and its dark outside.

Exactly who is designing low cost batteries that can store power on a national scale to support our power grid?

I live with solar power and battery storage every day for the electricity needs of my home. I still use propane for heat and have a grid connection in the summer to run a 4 ton air conditioner. It would cost me in excess of $100,000 to heat and cool my home with solar and battery storage. When it gets cold outside and a heat pumps 20KW heat strips kick on to provide heat even a large battery bank wont last 2 hours

I don't believe the MSM talking point and propaganda that is not backed up....but carry on with your devotion to that religion.

I want cheap, plentiful energy ....not expensive unreliable energy.

Hey dude, one guy has some solar panels on his house so that makes him an industry expert and the other works at a podunk hospital and hates sick people. That makes him an expert on literally every topic on this board. Pay attention.
