Eagles sign Tim Tebow

cant be true. The numerous experts on here said Tebow is a joke and to unathletic to be in the NFL regardless of position or scheme. Anyone remember who was pushing the point on how unathletic he was even though his combine numbers were better than Kaepernick? LOL GOD I hope he gets an honest shot even if to be a backup. Nice when good things happen to good people.

I have been reading this board for the past three years sir. Literally, no one has said Tebow is unathletic, that's made up. People have rightly said that Tebow's throwing mechanics are terrible.
Which they have been. Stop whining.

If he fixed his mechanics, he will be given a shot. If not, he will continue to complete 37% of his passes and be an even worse announcer on college football games.

All he has to do is make sure he makes the team as their number two QB on the depth chart. There is no way Sam Bradford makes it though the season without getting hurt

He better have some "Jesus" in his corner if he wants to play in Philly.
Those people will have no problem pelting him with Batteries, Snow Balls, Beer Cups.......or Probably Bible Versus
if he sucks in a game up there.

If I remember right, even those of us that said he is not an NFL starting quarback admitted that he would have a shot if he would just change positions. Im not sure even his strongest doubters ever said he was unathletic for any position or scheme. The problem is unless there are injuries or someone else gets traded he is THIRD on the depth chart at best and most likely fourth.
But the dude has another shot, perhaps things have changed.

Best move ever!!!!
Speed and zone read. Now you do not have to get your #1 QB hurt running Zone read, very smart.
Eagles deep in playoffs Let me be the first to say it.

Seems like I remember Cow (could be way off on that) talking about how he wasn't an elite athlete. That's when someone compared his combine numbers with Kaepernick. Certainly don't remember ANYONE on here...ever...saying he was not athletic. I think he was an awful NFL QB, but even I'd defend his athleticism.

I know I am one of those who said that. I would love to have Tebows, talent, work ethic, and leadership skills on my team...just not as a QB. I think he would make a great FB or TE. Then you also add a good player for trick plays...

Yes, it was I who said he wasn't an elite athlete, and I stand by that statement. I also stand by the statement that he is not an NFL caliber qb. No one has ever shown numbers to disprove those two statements.

I would like to know what numbers you would need to see before you call someone an elite athlete. Do you look at testable numbers, his numbers are better then Cam Newton in every area, other than 40 time, which I am assuming you don't think that is the only thing that matter. He has a better cone drill, 20 yard shuttle, broad jump and vertical accourding to NFL.com. Vick only ran the 40 at the combine so who knows what his numbers would have been. Tebows Vertical, Cone Drill and 20 yard shuttle are better then Kap and their broad jumps are the same.

Maybe you look at on the field success. Tebow has won two national championships in college. Throughout his time in college he broke the record for most total first place votes for the Heisman and won the award once.

As a pro, all he did was lead a team that was 0-4 when he took over to the playoff and a win against a better team. And you can't say he didn't have an impact on that comeback because is they had not come back he would have been blamed for it. That was the one and only time he was given a chance to really play.

I think you are the one who has yet to give any numbers that show he is not an athlete. All you have done is repeat what the "experts" say on ESPN but even they don't take a shot at his athletism.

I would be interested to know what qualifications you have for determing someones "athletism". Why should anyone have to disprove you on that topic. Do you know something about being an athlete or rating atheltes that the rest of us don't?

Denver won in spite of tebow. Look at his stats. They are horrendous. His college stats are irrelevant to pro ball.

Hes a good athlete. He's not kap, cam newton, or Vick. Watch all 4 play and you tell me whos an athlete at the qb position and who's not. If you think tebow can compete with any of those guys, I don't know what to tell you.

I would say the Vicks and Kaps of the world seem to be faster or at least more elusive than Tebow. Tim was more of a fullback/Qb and was powerful for college. He doesn't break many tackles in the NFL.

Aren't you the facts guy. All you did was offer another opinion and you still never addressed my question of what qualifies you to access peoples athleticism

You also give Tebow no credit for the wins while he had a chance to start but you would have sure gave him all the blame if they had lost all those games

I, for one, plan to continue to hope that the guy is successful. Wouldn't it be nice to have an NFL player that you would have NO problem with your kid having as a role model?

Tebow is by all accounts a great guy. That has nothing to do with it he's NFL material.

Just look at his stats and make the case that he's a good NFL qb. Heck, make the case that he's a serviceable qb. You can't do it.

I won't go into the statistics about playing the QB position. You can prove anything you want with statistics. The stats you look at to determine "serviceable" and the ones another person looks at may different. Both are correct for that person. I choose to look at winning percentage rather then completion percentage but look at whatever you want. Your "facts/opinion" said that Tebow was not an elite athlete and unless you know some measurable that I am unaware of, all of his measurables match up with guys you have labeled as "elite"

Except for the fact that those guys start on playoff rosters and Tebow has yet to show he can stay in the league.

You can't make the argument that's he's an average QB. The stats simply say he's awful. And no, that's not spinning the stats. That's just being able to read them.

Again, the fact that you choose to ignore the only stat that matter, Winning percentage, shows that you are not able to look at sports objectively, or admit when you are wrong. That is very "open minded" of you

Lol. Yeah, winning percentage doesn't take into account he's got 21 other teammates that overcome his deficiencies. How about looking at things like QBR, yards, interceptions, tds, and completion percentage? If you're don't like those fancy stats, then please explain to me why he's been in and out of the league and hasn't been given a chance to start since Denver?
