Lucky for DGB it's only a DUI

Surely he hasn't burned through two years of NFL salary already and can't afford tags for his car

Although I enjoy your posts Blizzard the "only a DWI" is a little disturbing. DWIs only cause a few thousand innocent deaths and millions of dollars in damage every year. Throw the book at him. Third fourth fifth strike when is it more than just a little? Just a little weed, just a DWI..

Luckily, this time he didn't kill anyone. Let me clarify, I am not suggesting driving drunk is a joke. Lots of folks make the mistake of driving under the influence. Though a self inflicted wound, DGB life is temporarily ruined for a DWI. They will nail him. It will cost him thousands, and he will hopefully take notice that society is unforgettable but not unforgivable. Given he was pulled over before he wrecked, perhaps he will learn a lesson that changes his course for the better. Maybe he'll take up AA. He has a long life ahead of him. Big picture, he hasn't done anything yet to throw his life away. Hopefully he will use a DD or Uber next time. But thanks for making my original point. The point being much is expected of a man given the gifts and opportunities he has enjoyed, and though he has screwed up, it's not too late and I for one believe he can recover from this incident and use it for good.

How many Chances should he get Blizzard? I mean the kid has had several opportunities and here he is again being arrested for the same old thing. I believe in second chances but this kid has had what half a dozen....

I also believe in second chances. This DGB guy sounds like he needs some guidance in his life. I once knew a hot headed DB who ended up playing college ball, but boy oh boy did he make some bad choices in high school. He learned from his mistakes and got things turned around. Sounds like DGB has not done the same.

Jail time may help him see the light. If what you think is true, and he's beyond the point where he has lost control, incarceration might be the best answer.
The conundrum is he has the cash to avoid jail, and perhaps will not admit he has a problem until it's too late. Late being, he's squandered his fortune and or hurts himself or an innocent person. I hear ya.

One has to admire the grand scale of DGB's theater--a sort of an ongoing tragedy. Should we see this latest incident as a cry for attention? Unless he has been more than careless, he should be able survive on his original contract and signing bonus into the indefinite future. One would hope that as fellow MIssourians, we would wish him nothing but good fortune.

I don't know what the answer is not saying that, but some people will learn a lesson from a mistake the first time, while others are destine to repeat until tragedy strikes.

Wow...almost as much trouble as Kiante Hardin...

Kiante has been in trouble once never in high school. Although a horrible charge, college party big group of guys and neither you nor I was there. Definitely not condoning but don't know the circumstance so I'm out on that. With that being said what else has he been in trouble for? DGB whom I am not saying the world should give up on, but he has been in trouble many many times. I am definitely not hollier than thou but my GOD. You've got the world by the balls and have all those GOD given gifts and just throw them away. Needs the crap slapped out of him. There's one thing that has always made me laugh on mosports. Posters talking crap about how great a kid is they don't know. I get the " he's a helluva player" but when I read the " I met him at a camp my son went to, great kid" it's like yeah he said yes sir and no sir to you then tried to sell your son a gram of coke on water break..We need to quit praising every great athlete outside their respective sport. The "your the man attitude" has ruined a lot of kids lives....

True the Kiante situation sucks...group think, opportunity...and a girl that probably changed her story.

Honestly as a fellow Missourian I am kind of ashamed he is from our state .

Many years ago at Hillcrest the rest of his team was in a Huddle listening to their coach right before kickoff. DGB was on the track in front of the home crowd holding his arms up like he was god instead of being with his team. Pretty much told me everything I needed to know about him.

Phoenix took a lot of that out of him pretty quick :)

Ah, a prima donna syndrome. The narcissism one finds in selfish football players has been witnessed in the political arena to be sure. Methinks of the greased smile (and handshake) of one William Jefferson Clinton. Successful, laden with talent, and a winner, no doubt...but rotten in the core of his character. A flawed man. Not completely unlike the young and talented DGB.
