Dora Vs. Thayer District Championship Game

Dora batting in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd. Game was suspended due to lightning and then heavy rain. The game will resume on Sunday at 2:00PM in Thayer.

Great battle between two great teams. Thayer battled back from a 6-1 deficit, scoring in the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings to tie the game at 7.

Dora has a nice team. I got to see them here in P.B. last week when they won the 3R High School Invitational beating Naylor in the championship game 3-0. They played good defense and hit the ball pretty well. Naylor and Chaffee will play for the championship of the class 1 district at 3R when the weather allows. It looks like that will be at least Tuesday and possibly Wednesday depending on how much rain we get Monday into Tuesday.

The daughter of a former Lady Raider b-ball player is the center fielder for Dora. When they played here in the tournament was the first time I've seen her since she graduated from 3R.
I see they will play the winner of the district being played at 3R. Will be a rematch of the tournament championship game here a couple of weeks ago if Naylor can beat Chaffee. At least they both got a look at each other before the play off game.

The sectional game will likely get moved back, we just got 2 inches of rain in about an hour this afternoon and it hasn't been dry here since last Wednesday. I don't know when the District 1 championship will be played but I'm bettin it won't be before Wednesday.

I was told 3, but who knows what the weather will do between now and then. They keep stretching the rain chances out, some chance into Wednesday now. Hope it shuts off soon.

The 10:00 forecast looks a little better. Still a chance for some scattered showers tomorrow but looks like it should miss us, then clearing out for Wednesday. Tarp is on the infield at 3R, outfield will likely still be soggy Wednesday afternoon. Drying conditions are not very good.

Played two games at 3R today.

Naylor beat Chaffee by a run today to win their district. They will play a class 1 sectional game at Dora tomorrow at 5:00.

Neelyville beat Hartville 7-2 in a class 2 sectional game. I'm told they will host Pleasant Hope Saturday and as far as I know that game will also be played at 3R.
