Dogfather may have a golden nugget in his back yard

Class 2 Districts 5, 6. 7 and 8 will have a final four representative. Yes indeed " Mid- Mo " is Dogfather Country and one of the teams listed below will have shot @ a class 2 State championship in two weeks.

Class 2:

District 5-------Elsberry-----19-7
District 6-------Clopton------22-6

District 7-------Salisbury----25-3
District 8-------Harrisburg---20-8

I'm not sure who are the favorites in the above games but the " Dogfather " could weigh in on teams in his back yard?

Montgomery County won its district, 15 miles from Dogfather. Their road is a little tougher.

... While these teams are in my back yard, I don't attend as many games as I did a few years ago.
This time of year the W/L records are meaningless, sorta like drag racing, ya snooze ya looze...
The Salisbury vs Harrisburg will be contested in our Mexico Sports Complex and I have the honor of playing host to the Harrisburg Bulldogs while my wife of 52+ years will be hosting
the New Bloomfield Lady Wildcats...
Both Salisbury & Harrisburg have long winning traditions and previous final-four appearances and are very well coached. Promises to be a good one..
Monroe City vs Montgomery County both are having very good seasons. This should be a good match up as well...

How ironic is it that neighbors Clopton (Clarksville-Eolia-Paynesville) & Elsberry play each other next round. These 2 schools co-op in football..

As a long time host for MSHSAA final-four, and the last year the games in Columbia, this will most likely be our last year of hosting. We have enjoyed it very much while making many friends from all parts of the Show-Me State..

I would suggest that if you live relatively close to Springfield and would be interested in
hosting duties, that you write MSHSAA and express your desire...

Salisbury has defeated Harrisburg twice already this year. They beat them in the Centralia Tourney back in early December and again at Harrisburg the last week of the regular season. We all know it is tough to beat a team 3 times in a year and I expect that game to be a barn-burner.
