Just wondering. I know they have talent but don’t know how they stack up against the powers in KC and STL.

The big guy is a generational talent. I’d run behind him from veer to eternity. He’s literally a once in a lifetime kid so wouldn’t count them out!

I believe they have a shot. Huge oline and very good RB. They well ground and pound. Nixa has been mostly 80% run this season.

if a big o line was all it took id put my money on carthage in C5 but it take more. They have a tough damn road my guess is they would have to beat LSN in quarters, CBC in Semis, and BSS in the ship. Not saying they cant do it but their schedule has not prepared them at all for that gauntlet

Agreed. They have not been challenged yet. And we really don't know what their full potential is yet. We fixing to find out.

Yes they have a chance. But it will be really a really hard road. Their schedule does them no favors.

Not a chance.... Sorry not sorry Nixa fans. Nothing against them, but they will lose in quarters or semis.

LS-LSN will have beaten each other up the week before and also will be coming off a very emotional rivalry game. That might help Nixa.

I remember a thread similar to this one 5 years ago just before Joplin went to the State Championship. 😂
Bruh, west county STL teams are just a tad different than KC teams. Kirkwood, Marquette, and Ft Zumy West ain't exactly Lee's Summit or Blue Springs types of teams.

Agreed totally... but, there was a similar thread asking if Joplin had a chance. All I was saying.

Fair enough. I get what you're saying now. I remember that too. I remember their road being ridiculously easier as well. It's weird, thinking back to those days of 8 team C6 districts and how spread out some were. Joplin in "district" with STL schools and JC. Iirc, one of those years someone like BS or BSS was in a district with all STL schools too. It was goofy.

I could legitimately see them winning the whole thing or losing to the District 7 winner in quarters.

There isn’t really a clear favorite or an unbeatable team in Class 6 this year.

I mean we talk football here so prolly safe to assume that's every year
In that sense yes... but nope for this reason.. It's rare a Class 6 school from SWMO has a chance to go to the C6 Championship, it's usually the KC & St.L teams duking it out.

I mean Joplin played no C6 from KC along the way that year, and ran into a brickwall in the ship that they weren't prepared for
Actually, I was at that game. Joplin was leading into the 4th Quarter 20 - 14. The game was fairly even. Joplin made mistakes to lose it at the end.

And BTW, the top C6 KC school Raymore Peculiar lost to Desmet 37 - 0 in the semifinals..........

Oh I know the history there.

I don’t remember the specifics but didn’t Joplin play that game close and actually lead for a good chunk of it until late?

Though I do agree generally that any sw c6 school is going to have the deck stacked against them in playoffs when hitting large metro schools. Nixa at least is setup to attract talent from a relatively largish population however Joplin is not only in a smaller metro but it also shares a border with a district that vacuums up a lot of talent from its neighbors.

Yeah Joplin was in that game until the end . They didn't get thumped or anything like that . Joplins rb plays for the new York jets now .....they weren't scrubs that got a weak schedule . They were an abnormally. A good class 6 school from not a metro area with 3 million people . Nixa fills this bill this year ....for what it's worth nixa will be better next year . Their QB is a stud and he's a sophomore and cantwell is a Jr and the other tackle is almost as good ...also a Jr . Look at state shot and discus finals to figure out who the other tackle is....I'll save you some time ...they finished #1 and #2 in the state pretty easily

Spot on about everything.
That other comment comparing Nixa's line to Carthage's was asinine. Nixa has a decent shot. Their d is pretty good too.
Hoping Cantwell and the QB decide to transfer to Bixby next year.

You need to go back to school and take a reading and comprehension class.
I did not compare the lines. I stated if size is all it takes then I'd put my money on Carthage in C5. That's not a comparison go back to school

Webb scored 21 on them in the first half with their JV backfield. That may be their downfall. Their defense is decent . Their offense is unstoppable at least for the COC . I've watched Webb for 30 plus years and this was the second time I've ever watched a game and decided ....unless they fumble or something we can't stop them

Nixas qb will be a D1 talent in all 3 sports! McKnight's are a great family and I look forward to watching where he ends up!

I'm not sure he's a D1 talent in all 3 sports, but he's definitely a special athlete.

He should have been COC Player of the Year but I think a senior from Webb got it. With that being said I don’t think he would see much or any playing time at D1 in basketball. He is a 6’4” inside player. That isn’t going to cut it at D1 even though he is a tenacious rebounder.
