Maybe you should qualify if its' public or private HS.

Or if it's Adults that can't control themselves or kids being kids.

Again, you're trying to normalize inappropriate behavior.

1. It doesn't matter public or private,
2. I didnt say out of hand all I am saying is consuming alcohol of any kind.
3. I am not condoning it or normalizing it. It is just what I have seen on every parking lot before games.

Maybe I am wrong and it is only a central Mo thing. But I have seen it at Republic, Hannibal, Monroe City, Smithville, Herculaneum, and Jackson. All public schools.

You think you saw it because that's what private schools allow.

Add Blair Oaks to the list lol. German Catholic community...

is that what it is? I honestly don't see it . Certainly something I would notice too.
Hell it may just be down here but if you see a pop up tent in the parking lot and a guy BBQing in this area. There is cooler somewhere close by. Like 65TPR says every city around here has a sign that tells what sister city they have in Germany. Something I never saw on the other side of the state until I moved here. First game I watched of my step sons down here I was stunned at all the tailgating. I distinctly remember saying to my now wife, they cant drink at a high school game. A lot had changed since the last game I had watched back in 91.

I’ve seen party busses pulled up to the end zone. Yes, there’s drinking going on at high school games.

Caruthersville used to have their opponents across from the bleachers, but you had to deal with the multitude of adults in back yards...grilling, smoking meats and other things, and drinking during the game...their tailgating lasted all night.

Would say its certainly not promoted for the parking lots, but sure goes on. Know several people who own those can wrappers that say Mt Dew or Coke and fits over the can. Heard of several instances this season in people coming w alcohol on their breath, harassing the concession and gate workers. Left at half time to go slam a couple and giving the gate workers trouble about no free re-entry. Schools having a hard time finding staff to work the parking lots, concession stands, and supervise. I always say give it time and the parents will ruin it. Have noticed several schools starting to do no kids under HS can just be dropped off, limiting games to parents only.

I see a bit more of that when we travel to the STL. You just got back from Vegas have you noticed the change out there. It used to be everyone drinking walking around the strip. Now you see a lot more vape pens and edibles from the dispensaries.

Worst case of amnesia I ever saw was two Baptist at the same liquor store.
I helped a guy build a wine vineyard in southern MO and was with him at the feed store when a Baptist deacon asked him what he was gonna do with all those grapes. The deacon was upset when the guy said he was gonna make wine. But he told the deacon not to worry, cause the place would have a backdoor too. I have been laughing about that for 15 years now.

Years ago at Concordia, they would park a flat bed trailer on the street on the north end and have a good time. I saw on TV at the new field at Monroe City in the SE enzone they did the same in somebodies back yard.

I attended a Rockhurst game a few years ago at was kinda surprised by how prevalent and forward it was at the tailgating in the parking lot. Looked like a Mizzou/Chiefs game,

But really, as long as people aren't acting like obnoxious drunks or driving home intoxicated, I could care less.

I learned a lot time ago that the same people who are concerned about adults drinking do a good job of making up for it by eating. Parents and adults are as likely to influence their kids’ long term health by what they eat around them as what they drink around them.

Someone on Sports Talk mentioned a tree stand in use at Marionville games.

YES. Depends on time of year but was shocked to walk Vegas Blvd finding virtually nobody selling beer on the street. Back when I went there for darts (2000s to 2011) heck you couldn't go especially mid strip without a vendor every few yards.

I cannot speak for Jefferson County but there is NO drinking on the parking lot at Valle!
The tail gate last weekend across the road from the Valle's field is public property.
I am fairly certain that Ste Gen has the same rules as their field is on school property.

Let's face it, it would be difficult for any school to prevent some one who wants to imbibe in their car. Even Farout Field has no liquor rules and they end up with bushel baskets full of the mini liquor bottles. Read somewhere that this was a record year for people getting caught and thrown out.
