Why Matheny doesn't win any MOY awards? If just defies all logic. Big Pappy flashback.

MM had a bad night but not as bad as our hitters RISP This loss is onMM

Yes, it's Matheny's fault we had a season high 16 hits and another season high of 16 strikeouts along with only producing 3 runs.

If the Cards outlast the Buckos there's really no logical excuse for MM to not win it. Well other than the writers just don't like the Cards. The Cards lost numerous top players to injury and they've brought up numerous youngsters. And here they are with the best record in baseball. For MM to not get credit for that would just be absurd.

Remember Matt Williams won it last year just 2 years after Davey Johnson won it with the same team. Yes the same Matt Williams we just watched work his magic for 3 games. For all the Cards success that last 20 years they have exactly 1 MOY award, TLR in 2002. Heck Girardi won it at FL in 06 with a losing record. WTH... Unfortunately it's a popularity contest and the Cards just aren't very popular.

A lot of times the manager of the "surprise" team wins instead of the best team. In this case the cards have overachieved and you would think MM would win, but Maddon and Collins will probably get a lot of support.

Again...anyone who understands a baseball game knows there are about a half dozen decisions (out of 50 or more) that a robot couldn't make during the course of a game. When you drop the ball on those six or so, it tends to show up. Yes, the Birds could've made more of their 16 hits. Yes, the manager could've not been a stubborn mule and pitched around the second coming of 2013 David Ortiz. Twice. It's not like you can't find more than one reason a game was lost. Legitimate reasons. And both of those are legitimate.

Right. Now I expect all of the decisions he makes from here on out that work in the favor of the Cards winning to be pointed out.

I aint gonna agree with MM on every decision, but I sure aint going to waste time worrying about the few over the season that turn into losses when they're on pace to win 100.

Agree 56 he never gets credit for much, but gets hammered when he has a tough night. Nobody said great move when he decided to go back to Moss. In fact I would think many on here thought OMG what is he doing in the lineup. Same for not going back to Bourjos, but he has buried him in favor of rookies. These are just some of the day to day decisions he makes.

Bourjos buried himself when he had a shot after Jay went down. He just ain't very good at this level.
