It’s thereI wondered this myself. I thought for sure it was always there even after week one but maybe not.
The strength of schedule formula needs at least two weeks before you get points.I wondered this myself. I thought for sure it was always there even after week one but maybe not.
I see the scores from Friday night but no district points when you go to that page?? Unless I am doing something wrong like usualIt’s there
wait until week 2. Give time for MSHSSA to get the kinks out of their system and for the SOS calc to be a bit more accurate. If it is not there and correct after week 2 games then something is defnitely wrong with MSHSAA.I see the scores from Friday night but no district points when you go to that page?? There is so many reasons why this is correct and why to change it would be wrong.Should Districts be Seeded by Win/Loss , Points, or by coaches? Look how stack these 4 Districts are, anyone know anymore districts looks like this!!!
playing up means diddly squat. Tipton might come in here and whip adrian. There is so many reasons why this is correct and why to change it would be wrong.
1) SOS / Playing Up - Just because you challenge your team and play tougher competition. Playing up, you should be given additional points from that.
2) Yes, it should be wins and losses but at the same time MSHSAA has a fail safe if that happens to be the case when it comes to head to head records with the 1/1 switch on seeds based up on beating the the higher point seed which is directly above you.
3) Winning convincingly: You get additional points if you consistently beat your oppenents convincingly. That makes sense to award convincing winners over teams that just won a game who happened to have the ball last.
Your asking the wrong questions. Should a school not be rewarded for playing a schedule full of powerhouse programs no matter the class. Or shoud a program be punished for loosing to several powerhouse programs because they were put on their schedule. When you put all of this together you are closer to getting placed in the proper placement of where you stand in a well rounded picture.playing up means diddly squat. Should they be rewarded for playing clinton and sherwood instead?
Go to a full on sagarin type model. Why should ruskin be worth more points than EB?Your asking the wrong questions. Is there going to be some smaller instances where the worse team is going to be given the higher seed, possibly. But no matter how you do it your going to have someone upset. That is human nature to whine and complain if they don't get their way. So what they can do is make it fair. They have.
noOr Mshsaa should just go by records. Head to and then points as the tie breaker.
Not when people have a variety of different strengths of schedule. If everyone played everyone in the same district and things were even then it would make sense. You’re right. Winning and losing actual games should never be the first criteria

yep and it doesn't take the quality of the 'bigger' school into account at all. That’s why it should be a tie breaker. A point system that “maybe” gets it right.
Especially when playing up a class carries way more weight than SOS. Look at class 3 district 4. No one will pass Moberly simply because they play 2 class 4 teams to end the season.
I am doing the math on that exact thing and yes Blair Oaks will be able to pass them easily. That’s why it should be a tie breaker. A point system that “maybe” gets it right.

and this was with Moberly beating JC. Moberly has to win out to have a shot of getting the #1 seed.I am doing the math on that exact thing and yes Blair Oaks will be able to pass them easily.
Even though Moberly's Play up points are high (10 to be exact) to 5.7 for Blair Oaks
The SOS of that is considerably poorer than BO. 13.57 for Moberly and about 16.1 for Blair Oaks
When you play those numbers out 2 more weeks based upon the most predicted results Moberly will lose SOS points and only maintain their Play up points. Blair Oaks would lose play up points but should gain in SOS.
Most likely result will between 56.19 for Moberly and 56.32 for Blair Oaks. Each win vs loss in SOS will be vital with a sway of .15 of a point for each win vs loss.
With that being said Photo finish but Blair Oaks can pull this out even though Moberly's Play up points are strong.
Poplar Bluff has head to head wins over Farmington and Cape Central in Class 5 District 1 but right now standings have Bluff 3rd behind Cape at 1 and Farmington at 2. If the season ended today and the seeding meetings were to happen would that mean Poplar Bluff would jump both in the standings for the top spot?
