District Games

Correct. MSHSAA made the move in the 2014-15 season to keep games on Friday nights through the playoffs (districts and beyond) until the finals.

The district games are on Friday nights, just like the regular season.

The quarterfinals and semifinals are on Saturday afternoons and the finals are on Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Per mshsaa football manual, weeks 13 and 14 games are at 1:00 on Saturdays unless mutually agreed upon by both teams to play on Friday night.

On MSHSAA's brackets, they have all the games listed as on Friday up to the finals. C1, C3 & C5 finals are listed on Saturdays with C2, C4, C6 & 8-man finals listed on Friday's. As was pointed out, the manual does give the teams the option to play on Saturday (since some teams will have travel issues). It looks like, though, that MSHSAA is defaulting to Friday nights until that decision is made by the involved schools.

Weeks 10-12 are on Friday nights. Quarters and semi's are Saturday at 1 unless both schools agree to move to another date/time.

I understand what the manual says about the game days, but maybe someone should tell MSHSAA to change their website brackets. Games listed don't show Saturday until the finals.

That is unless you are a private school and throw a fit,,,, then the game is moved to Sat no matter what the other team wants.

I agree. The brackets on website are causing a lot of confusion.

When they went to this new format ALL games were to be on Fridays.. but so many were changing anyway... Last year the brackets changed to Saturdays for the Quarters and Semis and can be moved to Fridays if both teams agree.
