But, but, but Trump caused No long term problems. Just shut up. He deregulated and Nafta-d us into hell. The two hot topics are Formula and Gas. All we get is GOP projection blaming Biden.

Canada’s strong dairy industry has attracted investment in formula production. But the Trump Administration sought to protect domestic producers by imposing quotas and 17.5% tariffs on Canadian imports in the USMCA trade deal.
This limited suppliers and left us susceptible to issues at one company causing a shortage.

On top of that his haphazard deregulation for the sake of reversing anything Obama did is going to be haunting us for years. Look no further than the gas prices today.

The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the rewrite of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) championed by the Trump administration, set new limits on how much baby formula Canada could export—not just to the United States, but anywhere else in the world too.

As the CBC reported in 2018, that provision was likely a way for the Trump administration to snipe at China, after a Chinese-based company had invested $225 million in a formula manufacturing facility in Canada. The deal was also a win for American dairy farmers and the Trump administration, the CBC reported, after a political spat between the dairy special interests on both sides of the border.

But the new "export fees" included in the USMCA make it more costly and difficult for America to import extra supplies of formula from its northern neighbor. Chalk it up to another self-inflicted wound of the trade war with China.

While each of these specific trade and regulatory policies has contributed to the infant formula shortage in small ways, the bigger picture should raise some difficult questions for the economic nationalists who believe that foreign trade is a vulnerability for America's economy. Sen. Josh Hawley (R–Mo.), for example, has suggested tightening the "Made in America" rules that already govern federal procurement to include "the entire commercial market." Using the power of the federal government to exclude even more foreign-made products, he argued in a New York Times op-ed last year, is "critical for our national security."

Tell that to the babies you only care about while they are still unborn.
You know if Biden had not made the largest manufacturer of baby formula in the United States shut down operations the first of the year we would probably not be in this mess.
There were 3-4 deaths of baby's using the brands produced at the facility out of millions using it. FDA could of just ramped up Quality Control and product testing in plant to assure product was clean before it shipped ,, never was any reason to shut that facility down.

it could be back up and running in 2 weeks

Canadas strong dairy is regulated massively. A dairy farmer cannot just go out and grow his herd. The government gives him a percentage he can grow the business and they are paid on a quota system. Do you want that here in the states?

In a couple of weeks when the temporary formula fake outrage subsides you will move on to the next fake hysterical issue. Life will be good again.

Whatever Tucker and Sean tells you to be mad about you will fill the politics board with their thoughts. I can’t wait.

Someone is on the sidewalk by a judge’s house. Oh my golly jeepers. The sky is falling.

Yea. When we faked our outrage at his deregulation we knew it would never harm us, right.

Jeez it's from the sports section about a former Baseball player at a Basketball game......it's called filler. Every Media outlet has filler stories.

Let's try to explain this to you once more....stories that are vetted on any outlet are legit. Anyone can do a bit of leg work and find the source material they are using and thus verify it's validity.

This fact seems to escape you or you want to ignore it.

So....are those stories false? Are they not interesting? What makes them of little value. Again you can't address the point that NYPOST actually prints/Links legit and vetted journalistic stories that have value.

Again those articles are fluff filler it's what is done in Journalism they use to call them human interest stories.
