Several years ago, my dad said to me that he thought a winless season was rarer than a state championship. Missouri just crowned six state champions, but did any team in the state finish the season with zero wins?

Keytesville went 0-20 and gave Breckenridge their 1st win in several years.
Breckenridge. Could’ve gone the rest of my life never hearing that place mentioned again. Every coach should have to experience coaching a game there. An exercise in patience and restraint.

DeKalb finished the season 1-24 and ended the year on a 23 game losing streak.

Guadalupe Centers Charter finished 1-17

Maysville Girls finished the season 1-22

Osborn Girls finished the season 0-25

Lee's Summit North got third in five years ago and two years later were 0-18

Blue Springs South went to two state championships in 2015 and 2016 and went winless two seasons ago.

I had to look up where that school is. It sounds like it's been rough--two straight winless seasons and an active 60-game losing streak.
My nephew played against them a few years ago a couple times and yeah, they mostly looked like none of them had ever picked up a ball before high school.

Has Everton ever been good? I know they were bad in the early 80s, but snapped a 30-some game losing streak by beating Jasper, who was bad that season too.

.LSN, specifically, played 18 straight legit opponents en route to its 0-18 season.

There are A Lot of class 5-6 teams that would be at risk of going winless against that schedule.

An 0-17 team only lost their first round district game by 4. I assume that was an 1-8 game

I covered a Mercer doubleheader close to 30 years ago. Zero memories, though. Curious about the patience/restraint thing.

Not in my lifetime. I believe they may be the largest school in Dade county? They are the closest to Springfield and should be a growing community.

Granted I was quite a bit younger and certainly pretty highly strung back then (close to 20 years ago). Wasn't exactly accustomed to north MO Class 1 way of life with hoops either. BUT, by the end of the 1st quarter I had corrected the clock at least a half dozen times. Not starting it. Not stopping it. Buzzer in the middle of play when someone was at the table to check in. It was a calamity. I didn't bother to ask the officials to intervene as one was working 10' to 10' volleyball lines while the other was going baseline to baseline. I offered to find someone, ANYONE, to run the clock for them. That didn't go over well. We weren't very good and it was a winnable game, so that made it worse. Believe we escaped with a win, if memory serves. I just remember being completely blown away, but able to laugh about it after.

I've been to some places like that. BTW, back to the original topic: East Harrison (Cainsville + Ridgeway co-op) boys were 1-25 this past season. Win was against Breckenridge the first game of the season (Nov. 25).

I got my information from MSHSAA at the time that I made the post. If it’s inaccurate then I'm not surprised.
MSHSAA's info is only as good as what it gets sent. Hoops Tournament runs the VERY GOOD Grand River Conference website (grandriverconference.com). He gets the coaches to send him info so I'd say he's THE go-to source.
On an entirely different subject, I've seen no complaints about MBCA all-state. That's a surprise.

That's kind of the pisser. If coaches are too lazy, or simply don't want to put the info in then you just don't know. It takes me about 30 seconds to login and enter a score.

Yeah, MSHSAA is not always accurate. I make sure that I keep up to date on all GRC teams to make sure I have accurate records on the website.

there are a few more teams i know of that went o fer not listed, but i don't see how bringing them up is necessary.....most have extenuating circumstances

I wasn't trying to embarrass anyone. I've been statkeeper for an 0-26 team. I was just wondering, based on something my dad said, whether there were more state champions (6) or winless teams.

It's where we live with some people brother. Facts can't be stated due to feelings. It's exhausting sometimes.

I love when you are trying to find scores and the school Twitter and Facebook folks don't put scores up. It's especially common when home team loses big not to mention it all. Very frustrating
I've been through some of those tough seasons, never an 0 fer, and it isn't always the easiest thing to do to call the papers and tv to let them know the scores, but it's part of your job. MSHSAA makes it pretty easy. Shoot I remember having to fill out the bubble sheets on officials.
