I know I have not seen Large in a few years....but is that him riding that horse? He does look pretty board.

really dont see Large leaving the Branson AD job to take over a Monett team that will not only need to rebuild but will soon be moving up to Class 4 and in all likelyhood in a district with Webb City, CJ, etc...
Congrats to Depee and best of luck at Ozark. What a great job he did at Monett.

Also I know for a fact you are not from Monett so you have no clue what is left on the self as far as talent. Senior class was good but the Sophomore class is very good.

I did not mean to insinuate that there is not talent left. I appologize if it sounded that way. I have nothing but respect for that program and enjoyed calling the games I got to for them.
I was just pointing out that they are losing most of their starters. It will be a rebuilding season, but by no means did I mean to say that it would automatically be bad.

Losing that many starters AND having to adapt to a new head coach makes for tough sledding next year for Monett(I hope they prove me wrong

Mits I concur depending on who they hire it could be real tuff sledding, but it will not be because of lack of talent. I think it depends on how many assistants Depee takes with him to Ozark, if he decimates the staff it will be hard to overcome that.Originally posted by Mitsurugi san:

So I might have missed it, but who is taking over at Monett? Also is there any Lathrop updates? Last I heard was that they are NOT shutting down the football program.

Its high school instead of college so there is a decent chance the biggest majority of assistants will stay. (sometimes hard to match the number of teaching positions at a new school to get a bunch of them). With what he built there, you would have to think they will get a list of quality applicants. Is there a chance that maybe one of the assistants would be ready to take the head job?Originally posted by bullitpdq68:

Is there a coach ready to take over? possible there could be. Just depends on if they want to and if those in the administration feel they are ready but staff is young, but shoot most seem young to me. Also I think you have to go out and see who might be interested. Between Spencer and Depee Monett has had a pretty good run over the last Decade. Then add the community support, remember all the upgrades to the football stadium/turf was done by private donations the next coach whoever it may be will enjoy the strong support of the Monett community. Along with a nice stadium with new turf.
Yeah so true but most of the assistants are people Chad brought in over the years I think two even played for him. I might be biased but I think Monett gives a lot of support to the coaching staff and by that Chad was able to bring in a lot of his people. Bradley has to be one of the top AD in the state along with being a fine wrestling coach and good person.Originally posted by MoSooner69:

Agreed. the community support along with the upgrades had to make it a tough decision for him to leave.

On the flip side, if Ozark can't make this latest situation work and instead end up running yet another coach out of town, they'll find it much harder to get a good coach next time(and then starts a downward cycle that's hard to recover from...)

Mits here is what the Ozark AD said of the expectations.
It's very important to me that we don't have one good year. It's important to me that we put together lots of good years. My idea of a strong football program is one that comes out every season with a chance to continue playing on into November.

Hhhhmmmm.. Didn't Ozark make the playoffs the last 3 years. YES a different playoff system, but Half the teams did not make it past week 10.

Webb City is a medium sized town in the state of Missouri. I hear they have a decent football program, hold their own every season and occasionally win a state championship....
