Mitch has to let the senate vote on something before he can blame anyone else right now.
It is NOT their job to figure what will the president will sign and what he won't, that changes from one minuet to the next. The way this works is the house send a bill to the senate and they SHOULD have vote on it and the process goes on from there. That is NOT what is going on up there right now. They sent a bill to the senate that had the same amount of money in it that the senate had very recently voted for. Now Mitch won't allow them to vote again. Why should either the house or the senate give him MORE money right now when he hasn't been able to spend the nearly 2 billion he got last year? When he uses that money they can talk about it again in next year's budget fight. The congress led by the democrats need to send a passable bill up the ladder, it's on them.
The congress led by the democrats need to send a passable bill up the ladder, it's on them.
There wasn't a vote in the Senate on legislation. There was no unanimous vote regarding immigration or the border in the Senate. The Senate did have the votes needed to pass a bill IF TRUMP AGREED TO IT.
There is no point in voting on a bill that probably wouldn't pass knowing Trump won't sign it and they would never have the votes to over ride a veto.
Pass a compromise! THEN you will have valid points.
Show me where Trump ever said he would vote for a bill that didn't fund the wall.
You can't because he didn't. I said Trump should shut the government down. Am I President too? Everyone wanted him to cave but he never budged.
Daily news? What’s that? Lol. Sorry, Mr. Miller. I shouldn’t answer for you. Then why did McConnel think they had a deal and do the straw poll at all? Because as usual once the far righties got ahold of orangutan boy he flip flopped and pulled the rug on the turtle. Start following the daily news.
Let me help you out. THAT wasn't an answer. That was a question, a question you answered with a statement you want to be the answer to your question. Keep trying, you'll get it.Then why did McConnel think they had a deal and do the straw poll at all? Because as usual once the far righties got ahold of orangutan boy he flip flopped and pulled the rug on the turtle. Start following the daily news.
Hey dumb arse. I said straw poll. The Senate UNANIMOUSLY gave their support. This means they would have agreed to the houses bill before your President Coulter over ruled---which is undeniable. Nice job voting for Ann and Rush.
Then why did McConnel think they had a deal and do the straw poll at all?
Ask Cousin Mitchy, if you can find him.Why do a straw poll if you have a unanimous vote?
Thought you were against personal attacks on mosports posters?![]()
Why do a straw poll if you have a unanimous vote?
You know less about how things work than Trump. Jesus, Mary, Joseph.
Another question avoided like a good liberal.
If you have 100% do you need a poll to know it? They were giving Trump his options! He chose to stand firm.
What part of I WILL SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT...... I AM PROUD TO OWN THE SHUTDOWN is so difficult to understand? You are either being dishonest or you are as dumb as Miller.
When the Republicans had a majority in the Senate and a majority in the House, and a “Republican” in the WH - no compromise was needed, but still no wall. Please explain that.Doesn't really matter to me either way, I'm not on the dole.
Trump may have shut down the govt.
Nancy and the dems are keeping it closed by not being open to any compromise.
When the Republicans had a majority in the Senate and a majority in the House, and a “Republican” in the WH - no compromise was needed, but still no wall. Please explain that.
He didn't have all the pubs on board with it. Just because a Republican president wants something, doesn't mean all the pubs will fall in line.
I would guess there are some freshman dem congresswomen that are at odds with leadership,no?
Brilliant! Let the senate put out a bill and the house can vote it down and then the senate can truly own it.If this will not pass the senate then vote it down, then the house truly owns it.
My point exactly! Republicans don’t want to fork over all that money for a wall. Why can’t Uncle Donnie see that? It’s not the Dems who are holding up funding for the wall, it’s his own party. Hence, a Republican-owned shutdown. Sheesh. He didn't have all the pubs on board with it. Just because a Republican president wants something, doesn't mean all the pubs will fall in line.

Hmmm ... a border state says there is no border “crisis?” Interesting. Very interesting.
One lawmakers opinion equals the states opinion to you. Do you really mean that?Hmmm ... a border state says there is no border “crisis?” Interesting. Very interesting.
Need two question marks in this post ... you asked two questions. One lawmakers opinion equals the states opinion to you. Do you really mean that?
You are really stupid. I stated what I thought you said (not a question) then asked a question.Need two question marks in this post ... you asked two questions.
No, not necessarily. Majority of Americans don’t want a wall and blame Uncle Donnie for the shutdown, but yet you support and believe his reasons for both, correct? And question why I don’t, correct? Just because he says he has a majority support doesn’t mean he actually does, correct? I voted against Uncle Donnie, but my state said otherwise in November of ‘16, correct?
I asked four questions, hence four question marks. Btw, they are what are called “rhetorical questions.” Not meant to be answered; making a statement. Saved you the criticism like you usually send my way when I ask similar questions in the past.
...and that makes me stupid? Hmmm. If that’s the definition of stupid ... I guess I am. What does that make you, Mr. Miller? Not a rhetorical question (see above for definition of rhetorical). You are really stupid. I stated what I thought you said (not a question) then asked a question.
You said what one person said meant that whole state wanted the same.
Not when it comes to the wall.
In fact a large majority of Americans dont want billions spent on a wall.
Most dont mind funding border security, but
they believe a wall is not the best method.
So why would they fund a wall that only Trump and a small percentage of Americans want? That would just be stupid.
Compromise doesnt mean accepting a stupid proposal to feed an ego.
No, not half the country wants it. Check again. So they'd rather not compromise on something that at least half the country is on board with, just to serve their own egos, and so they can use it as political capital in 2020, despite the fact that it hurts a large subsection of America?
Yeah this is Donald's shutdown, but the Dems are owning it.
No, not half the country wants it. Check again.
He also said Mexico was going to pay for it. Maybe some believed him, hence the vote for him.Approximately half the country voted for him and it was no campaign secret that he wanted a wall. It's not some small subsection that wants it.
He also said Mexico was going to pay for it. Maybe some believed him, hence the vote for him.
If we spend $5.7 billion for the first installment, where is the money for healthcare, infrastructure, education, etc., going to come from? Can’t cut taxes and then turn around and spend, spend, spend. Econ 101.
Furthermore, 5 billion is a drop in the bucket.
I don't want to ever read anything from you guys about how much our budget deficit and the national debt increased under any administration the way you talk about 5 billion dollars like it's nothing. That's how we got in this shape to start with. We'll just add few billion here and few billion there, after all it's only a small percentage of our over all budget. Well guess what, the more we spend the smaller that percentage is every time we add another 5 or 10 billion and that seems to be ok with you guys.THIS!
There are DOZENS of things we spend that much on. Very few of them are loved by a majority. The cost is the only excuse libs can use to keep the borders unsecured while claiming they want them secure. Their BIGGEST fear is that a wall would actually work (because walls work).
That is the first installment. How many $5.7’s will there be before it is more than a drop in the bucket?I'd be the first to say that military spending should be cut and if Trump does go the state of emergency route to get funding it should come out of the defense budget.
Furthermore, 5 billion is a drop in the bucket.
