It appears a roster player on the class 4 Miller Career team ask his father. The conversation started when the player ask his father, " Why are we not ranked in class 4"? We defeated Sikeston easy and class 4 McCluer beat Sikeston. Sikeston is ranked 3rd in class 4 in Missouri. ( # 1 Vashon and # 2 St. Mary's )

The father said, son you lost to class 3 Northwest Academy by 18 last Tuesday evening, Parkway South clocked you 64-33. Vashon beat you 74-58, you have lost 7 games so far this year. The father then ask why should your team be ranked ahead of Sikeston? The son told his father, we were sick in all of those games we lost, The Refs cheated us, we also had back to back games and the travel time affected our game.

The father then told his son Miller Career has only won 17 games this season while Sikeston has won 21. The son said, Dad, Sikeston wins six games every year playing those wrestling school in St. Charles County @ Christmas and the Zumwalt North Tournament. Dad, if we could add those 6 games to our 17 games, we would have 23 wins this season. The father then told his son, I see what you mean, maybe Miller Career should be ranked in class 4.

He should have told his son rankings really don't mean anything it all shakes out when districts and playoffs start, if Miller Career is good enough to be ranked they will found out real soon son

Consistency. Sikeston is consistent and has played a brutal schedule and won 21 games and lost only three. Other than those three, they've pretty well dominated and manhandled most opponents in their path. Miller Career obviously has not been as consistent. Plus, understand how rankings work. Traditional strong programs are normally going to get first crack while other schools may have to prove themselves over the course of the season. I personally think Miller Career is one of the best teams Sikeston has played and I would rank them in the top 10. But the question is, can they put together a performance like they had on Friday in their district, which includes Vashon? We'll see. It may not matter due to Vashon's talent.

People seem to forget at any one time we can have 2 Fr , 2 sophomore , and a Jr. on the court .

MFloyd and Train. Sikeston is one of the youngest teams in Missouri fighting for a districts and beyond championship. Jones and Fred Thatch are the big guns back from the class 4 final four in 2016. The Bulldogs have added sophomore Trey Jenkins 6'6" and a freshman who have proven their worth. The Sikeston Bulldogs have overachieved if we think of all the youth on the team. Fred Thatch makes the team go and the other players feed off Fred.

Sikeston has a harder road to the class 4 final four now then the last ten years or more. Sikeston must now get past Vashon or St. Mary's in the sectional to make it to Columbia. This is the toughest road to travel of any class 4 team in Missouri. Vashon is a factory that's not going away for years to come. I have seen their JV play two times this year. They have three outstanding 6'4" freshmen who will be a force in the next two years. Joe Reece 6'8" and McKinney 6'3" will defend until these freshmen become of age.

Could someone post the youthful rotation players for the 2017 Bulldogs. The Sikeston Bulldogs could compete as a junior varsity team.

1. Fred Thatch---6'2" Jr.
2. Jones-----------5'10" Soph.
3. Trey Jenkins--6'6" Soph.

Train, Miller Career is in the same class 4 district as Vashon. How will they get the chance to be ranked? Miller's chance for ranking is now. The are odds more then a 1,000-1 for a Miller Career win against Vashon.

I wouldn't say it's harder this year than the last 10 years. Many of those years Sikeston couldn't make it out of district play with Notre Dame (state champs in 2008 and 2nd in 2007 and 3rd in 2015) and then two other times Sikeston ran into a nationally ranked Borgia team in the quarterfinals and a very talented Imagine Prep team in the quarters (2012). This year will be difficult with Cape Central and Notre Dame both getting stronger in the second half of the season and Sikeston down a player. Then if Sikeston does get through district play they have one of two state ranked teams (Farmington, Hillsboro) waiting in the sectional. The sectional round is definitely tougher than it has been in 10 years, I'll agree on that.

Ain't that the truth, Deej. How are things down in God's country?

Not much different than when you were here haha. Just trying to get ready for this district tournament! Last home game tonight against Jackson.

My favorite part of the area, things don't change much! Well, that and the wings at Pilot House.

Eagle Ball, What was the past you took to get to class 5 Camdenton? Was your first stop in SEMO to St. Clair then to Camdenton?

MFloyd's path to Sikeston?

Haha true dat

You know your picture on your profile George "The Animal" Steele passed away the other day.
RIP Jim...He was the last remaining member of arguably the strangest love triangle the WWF ever saw.

I'm telling you, I'm going to wake up one spring or summer morning this year and drive to Cape just for those wings. You'll have to come and meet me.

Macho was my favorite wrestler ever, so I hated The Animal! lol. And I'm in for that!

I loved me some Animal. The ultimate in showman.

I'm serious...I couldn't even begin to tell you the last time I was southeast of Freddy. Been too long.

The shocking thing about Animal is he coached football and track and taught school in Michigan and was inducted into the coaches hall of fame there.
