Tiger Style Bring Home Eight Titles At Cyclone Open
Mizzou wins at 125, 133, 141, 149, 174, 184, 197, and HWT in Ames, Iowa

Willie Miklus took home the crown at 184 pounds Saturday at the Hilton Coliseum

FINAL RESULTS at 2014 Cyclone Open
AMES, Iowa - Mizzou wrestling opened their 2014-15 season in grand fashion, claiming eight championships and 20 medalists at the 2014 Harold Nichols Cyclone Open.
Redshirt senior Alan Waters (125), redshirt sophomore Matt Manley (133), redshirt sophomore Lavion Mayes (141), redshirt senior Drake Houdashelt (149), redshirt senior Mikey England (174), redshirt freshman Willie Miklus (184), sophomore J'den Cox (197), and redshirt senior Devin Mellon (HWT) all took home their first event titles of the season.

Along with the eight champions, 12 additional Tiger grapplers placed in their respective weight class. At 125 pounds, sophomore Barlow McGhee (3rd) and freshman Chase Brennan (4th) finished strong, while at 133 pounds freshman John Erneste (5th), redshirt sophomore Cole Baumgartner (4th), and redshirt sophomore Zach Synon (3rd) had solid days at the Hilton Coliseum.

On to 141 pounds, the Tigers also had strong performances from freshman Sam Crane (4th) and redshirt junior Le'Roy Barnes (5th). Sophomore Joey Lavallee placed second at 157 pounds and was the lone medalist for the Tigers at the weight.

At 165 pounds, redshirt junior Cody Johnston (3rd), freshman Daniel Lewis (5th) and redshirt senior Ty Prazma (2nd) all delivered great performances. Redshirt senior Johnny Eblen placed second at 184 pounds, dropping his finale to Tiger teammate Willie Miklus.
When Saturday came to an end, Tiger Style grapplers produced an incredible 114 victories. Of the 44 losses for Mizzou, 12 were from matches that put two Mizzou wrestlers up against one another.

Up next for Tiger Style wrestling are their 2014-15 dual openers at the Hearnes Center on Nov. 15. Mizzou squares off against Truman State at 5 p.m. (CT) and Missouri Baptist at 6:30 p.m. (CT).
