Wonder how the golf courses are treating the Cardinals
Arietta is finding out things get a tougher in the playoffs. You might grip the ball a little tighter or just think too much about what to throw. Even the 'lowly offense' of the Cards lit him up in a playoff game. But then they did the same thing to west coast dude in the playoffs.Wonder how the golf courses are treating the Cardinals
No team not wearing blue was allowed to be in the hunt for the WS this year. How did the Cubs do on the golf course this time of year for a hundred years or so?So Wacha is +6 on the front 9? Good to know
Duck you are making yourself sound like a bitter old man and I know better. Give it up you complain about all things Cards when they lose. There comes a point where nobody cares. Please quit the season is over and we get it. MM is stupid, MO is stupid, The offense sucks, the pitching is terrible. Yet they won 100 games. Now your Almighty Cubs and best MGR ever (Maddon) are getting it handed to them. Good teams do get beat in fact only 1 will be left standing. It is sooooooooooo easy to point to the team that is winning and bash the losing team. Now the Mets are the flavor of the day!!

You can continue with your happy act all you want. Four years in a row in the playoffs we have ended our season, not with a hard fought nip and tuck series, but instead a three game collapse. Matheny can lead a horse to water but he can't get it to drink. Mattingly is about to be fired for what Matheny also has done. Fizzled.
Matheny is not about to be fired and I would bet the farm on that. Also if he got fired he would find a new MGR job within the month. Just quit you're not making any sense and giving everybody ammunition to dispute your comments. I will start. Hey Ducky did Matheny get fired last night? Heard he was about to get fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to check your glasses. I said MATTINGLY is about to be fired. Wow.
Don't be too sure of that. He's not exactly thought of highly in and around the game nationally, at least as far as managing is concerned. Not saying he couldn't find a gig, but we won't have to worry about that. He's not going anywhere. And I'm cool with that. Devil you know...Also if he got fired he would find a new MGR job within the month.
No you said Mattingly is about to get fired for what Matheny has also done. WRONG! Mattingly was about to get fired early in the season for what his team was doing. If he gets fired it's not just about post season. He can't pitch for his big money pitchers and Matheny can't pitch for his young guns either. Blaming the manager for not performing up to par in the playoffs when his team won 100 games is just plain silly. Did he forget how to motivate them in the last couple of weeks? Those dudes have to take responsibility for this on their own.You need to check your glasses. I said MATTINGLY is about to be fired. Wow.

If he lost without the days off you'd be raising heck about his innings count. Do you think they would have even made the playoffs without using the pen guys he did all year. This wasn't the NL Central of a few years ago when 90 wins would win it by 5 or 10 games. They almost HAD to win 100 games to win the division and 95 wins would have left them at home after the regular season. You can't really think missing a turn caused him to not pitch well in the playoffs? If it did he is not mentally tough enough to be in the bigs on a playoff type team.If you are right, then Mattingly would have been fired even if he went to the WS. Hint: you aren't right. It's all about not succeeding in the post season. Get real.
So how Matheny handles his pitchers during the year has no effect on how well they are performing at years end? That's wrong.
In addition to overusing and over exposing his bullpen, I will give you one example. In August, Wacha was 3-0 with an ERA in the ones. He was on a roll. When September got here Matheny decided it's time to skip him in the rotation. Wacha didn't want to be skipped. He was enfuego. This Knocked him out of his routine and immediately fouled him up. He had an ERA of 7+ for September and never got back in the groove he was in.
You can deny this all you want. You are lying to yourself.

I like to argue? You took the Molina injury debate to the political Crap Board! For what reason I have NO idea.Show me where I've ever said anything about Wacha's innings count. There were games this year when we had a big lead and he still pitched Siegrist, Maness etc. Tuivailala, Lyons, etc could have pitched in more games and saved our bullpen some appearances.
Like I said. Wacha was on a roll. If he had been struggling it might make sense to skip him in the rotation. That's not what happened. The facts are facts. I'm sorry. I know you like to argue.
Ducky... perhaps you need more fiber in your diet.I like to argue? You took the Molina injury debate to the political Crap Board! For what reason I have NO idea.
