I’d say the top five and bottom three are bunched about as tight as a group can be. I’m not sure any of the top five winning would surprise me in that dist.Check out Class 4 District 7.................
Honestly, Eagles, I would be shocked if the WBurg/GView/Grain winner doesn't win the title game by 40+. I literally think Ray South and HVille have good chances to advance on that side of the bracket and both are way down this year.I’d say the top five and bottom three are bunched about as tight as a group can be. The one thing I think MSHSAA needs to look into (love this format otherwise) is strength of schedule factoring. They seem to only do it by class not by how strong the opponent actually is. Again if Van Horn/LP somehow win this district I will take all this back.............I’d say the top five and bottom three are bunched about as tight as a group can be. They do it by opponent record and Class multiplier. Not an exact science by any means. The one thing I think MSHSAA needs to look into (love this format otherwise) is strength of schedule factoring. Grain Valley should beat Grandview but it was a relatively close one last time and those Bulldogs are actually much improved this year. I still give them about a 15-20 percent chance of winning the district because I do think the winner of this 4-5 game will win it.I am predicting the winner of the Grain Valley/Warrensburg game in week 2 of district play wins Class 4 District 7.

I can see if that team was 6-2 they should jump ahead but not 4-5Should a 4-5 team get to jump a 7-2 team they trail by 9 points because they beat them head to head? Class 3. District 1.
What's your opinion of a Maryville/Odessa matchup? You guys have played both.

I always thought teams should get more points if they beat a private school.
Odessa is down a few starters on D I believe. Like their top 3 corners and a safety or something. If they get back, I'd say that will help the passing defense.Maryville was a very run heavy oriented offense against Harrisonville. Odessa has a great running game as well. They also pass well. They seem to be a little more balanced offensively. They have a TE that was a threat across the middle as well. The Odessa defense is suseptable to the pass. Harrisonville scored 3 TDs and moved the ball well through the air most of the night against them. We also should have scored another TD but fumbled going in from the 1 yard line. Our issues this season is our defense is not going to keep up with opponents offense, and we are not consistent offensively to keep scoring to stay in games. I will also add that we caught Maryville in week 2 so I imagine they have improved since we saw them. Overall both squads are good. I just thought that Odessa being ranked #1 that they would be better defensively. I would pick Maryville to win. That is just my gut feeling.
You beat them head to head, you should get home field advantage PERIODNo. Then they wouldnt be 9 points ahead of them in the standings.
