Four Wrestling state titles in a row, and 3-4 D1 wrestlers coming out every year. It is basically a college team.

But back to business and before any of these other bozos ask you, "WhAt WeRe ThEiR TrAcK TiMeS??"
Okay okay UNCLE. I promise never, ever to post about other sports on the FB board (nobody posts to the softball board last fall...............).Perfect place for a discussion on the confluence of wrestling with football. Bosko..you begin this discussion....thoughts?
It is the kid's clubs... There has always been a lot of participation and the kids start young. By the time they hit high school, they are "almost a finished product." As far as generational coaching goes, the head coach at Liberty is an Oak Park grad and went through there in their "glory days."What is it with wrestling in the Northland?
Oak Park dominated 90s, then Platte County, then Park Hill, Staley for a little bit and now Liberty. I'm sure there is a generational coaching tree at this point
I think I just read Matt Infranca who was a 4 time champ is the coach at St.Michaels. I remember the Fry family name in Oak Grove wrestling from the 90s. I think Pleasant Hill and Odessa have taken over in the smaller classes. Pleasant Hill has won back to back I believe. Is Oak Grove still a dominate school in wrestling? Has MO had many more 4 year state Champs? When I was in high school, I think there had been like 12 in the history of the entire state or something like that. For perspective, I graduated in 2005.
Bob Glasgow was the architect of that Oak Grove program. Both Fry and Infranca wrestled for him as well as a number of others who were state champs. P Hill and Odessa along with Richmond always had good programs back then.I think I just read Matt Infranca who was a 4 time champ is the coach at St.Michaels. Kearney won titles and had many top end Wrestlers, too. What is it with wrestling in the Northland?

Back when I was in high school it was all about Excelsior Springs.Kearney won titles and had many top end Wrestlers, too.
I’mHasn’t Seneca won several back in the early 2000s?
Seems like others have already started the discussion, Joey! But you raise an interesting point. What sports are good indicators that you will also have a good football team? Assuming those athletes will play multiple sports.Perfect place for a discussion on the confluence of wrestling with football. Bosko..you begin this discussion....thoughts?

So we have track and wrestling. But don't forget the third part of the Holy Trinity for football programs. RECRUITING!!!!The other great feeder of football programs, WRESTLING...

And its pre-requisite, affordable housing. Phantom Press is releasing a 250 page book called, "Bud Lathrop's Guide to High School Recruiting." "If I could do it at Raytown South, you can do it at West Platte!" That chapter on Lee's Summit West is good. How to "house" multiple players at one address. The Staley chapter on picking up a four-star from small town Missouri is good. And "Webb City--the automatic sports magnet town" shows you how to not even lift a finger. Just build the field and they will come.
